Thank you, I really appreciate the help! We have robust waveforms now, things are going very well with this session.

Thanks, SteffenR, I really appreciate it! I am currently patching the output at the output screen rather than through tie-lines and will make that change. As for the goal of our recording, we are recording an orchestra (socially distanced, etc…) and want to mix the recorded channels in post to get a better outcome. It’s a high school orchestra so there are some level conflicts at the sources. For example, we are hoping to bring the flutes more forward in the mix, etc… THanks!

Thanks to everyone. Our dealer brought in a demo model and I was sold within 15 minutes. I was just approved to move forward with the dLive C3500, a CDM32, and a DX16/8! I am pretty excited.

Thanks, Scott! I understand the lag issue now and am less concerned. I have a QU to some of our smaller events and I find the same thing, I feel like I need to re-orient my head in order to work with the QU. It sounds like the dLive is the way to go for us.

Thanks for the insight! I love the GLD and am sad that is’s been discontinued. It has served us well. I hadn’t heard about the lag issue with the dLive, I have a vendor coming in to do a demo on the 18th and will ask about that. We run into spots where flexibility is critical, the GLD features have suited us nicely. We do a lot of cue/scene stuff here. Scene features are huge, the safe stuff has saved (and killed) me many times. I/O flexibility is a necessity, we have multiple positions where we place performers/ equipment. My fears are that the SQ series is a too-reduced GLD and would leave me wanting. I have been using my laptop along with my GLD but want to get into a more realistic dual surface mode, I want to have a dedicated monitor mixer in line but have been told that isn’t possible with digital world (aside from splitting to multiple boxes).

I must agree, this would be an excellent addition. I use the GLD Editor all the time with our 112 and would love to have it with our QU16. The app is fine but I’d rather have an something on my laptop.

Thanks, we are currently using aux mixes for our monitor through our AR2412. I am looking to break that into two and have one board at the stage for monitors and one FoH for the mains. Our currrent operation is great but I wnat to have more live opportunities for students to operate while also splitting the mix responsibilities. FoH student can concentrate on the house mix and stage student can concentrate on the stage mix.

If I understand correctly, I would need to invest in the ME system or the Aviom to accompish this? I think my sales rep was not 100% with me.

Thank you, everyone! That is what I feared. I’ve gleaned a lot of information lurking through this site. I really appreciate the wealth of knowledge here!

Does anyone know how the monitor port on the AR2412 operates then? Does it only work with another GLD board? I am a high school theater tech teacher and we have a student/faculty rock band that performs regularly where each song is, essentially, a different band configuration. All of my event techs are high school students learning the craft. Being able to split the monitor mix from the mains mix would allow us to reduce some of the stress on my team and also create more opportunities for live experience. We have a nice system and are running Dante for a lot of our equipment. The QU16 does not have a card slot but does anyone know if this could be possible through Dante?
