    5) How loud do the fans get? A: I use the SQ6 in a church setting. The fans a virtually silent, but the faders do make some noise moving between layers.

Hi Tobias, what if the dSnake is connect from SQ to QU as shown in the link above? I do not think SQ can control QU preamp remotely, it is just sending the post-pre audio signal to the QU and vice versa, correct?

I have not actually tried this myself. From the video it looks the setting is sending Direct Out audio. In this case, it seems that using the SQ inputs would be best (better preamp) and then send audio to the QU. I am not certain if you use send Tie Lines instead to have input gain control on either mixer. Maybe another user has experience with this?

The digital link between the mixers is bi-directional. No need for an analog splitter unless you are already using the dSnake port for an i/o unit, in which case you could simply add another card to the board.

Select the channel you wish to EQ with the graphic (in this case Main LR) and use the GEQ “Fader Flip” key. The faders become the GEQ frequencies.

    Hi Jeong,

You may want to use Tie Lines for your multitrack source instead of Direct Outs. See page 21 of the manual linked above.

Depending on your IEM units and line of sight distance from the performers, you might be able to use wireless IEM units connected to the board. If you experience wireless dropouts, an antenna combiner (e.g. https://www.rfvenue.com/products/iem-combiners) may be needed. Allen & Heath ME is the best way to go if budget allows.

Here are a couple of good conversations on the topic:

Matrix or aux to video feed?

"Stereo Aux" versus "Matrix" for Streaming?

We use a stereo aux pre-fade for stream, but it does require managing a second mix. The stream is a much different mix than the sanctuary as the listening environment is not the same as a live room.

You might try subtle panning of each vocalist (between L20 – R20) relative to stage position and a bit wider panning of individual instruments in the stream mix to open up space. If you record multi-track then you can use that as a virtual sound check until you find the perfect mix. Is the worship leader basing their comments on the stream only? The live mix and stream mix can be completely different.

I imagine if your DAW supports FLAC it could import the files onto tracks and playback might be possible from the DAW through the USB-B connection. In that case the SQ would be receiving audio signal via USB, and not actually reading FLAC files.

It looks like the tip of a 1/4″ headphone plug is broken off inside the jack.
