Bit of a catch-22 I think, until I can connect via the T80 I am not aware of any way to check.

I doubt it’s down to DHCP though as the router is set to provide dynamic IPs
    from 192.168.1.21 onwards only.

I upgraded a MacPro to Yosemite and tried iLive editor 1.94. Sure enough it prompted for applying Java 1.6.x but once that was installed it worked fine for me.

We use a UPS, for one thing I seem to remember in the A&H manual it’s suggested because there is a risk (though I suspect fairly small) the surface will get trashed (it’s running Linux and might need to flush I/O buffers to storage) and would need to be sent back for a factory re-set, but also we use a circuit breaker that trips and stays off if there is a power loss. One of the worst for any electronic equipment is the power going on/off in quick succession – lots of nasty spikes, dips etc. would punish any kit. So when we loose power (not often, but it happens) the kit stays switched off because of the circuit breaker and we can wait until the power is stable before powering things up again properly.

I’m not looking for free firmware with lots of new features, just a way forward.
We purchased iLive above all else because of the sound quality, and no regrets with that.
Quite happy to pay for new hardware or whatever.

Hmmm, now Merc would take my old one in part exchange ….. !

No, of course I don’t expect it to somehow get features that would perhaps be difficult or just not practical
with the current hardware. Equally I don’t expect A&H to say “At the moment our R&D resources are
fully committed to other projects” with regard to their flagship series.

I know Merc will bring out a new model/tweak every year or two, even though I’ve no idea what it will be.

    Hi Nicola,
With respect, the trouble with “Live is our flagship series and we’re fully committed to the system” and
“At the moment our R&D resources are fully committed to other projects” is that these
two statements are mutually exclusive in my world.
I can re-structure the busses on our iLive (which can be very useful), but when
someone wants me to do to something as simple as plug-in their USB stick to record their performance,
I can’t do it and yet many cheaper desks can.
I can quite understanding if A&H no longer want to play in this slice of the market, after all
it’s a commercial organisation and no doubt regularly reviews which market areas it wants to provide
solutions for. Equally our business can’t stand still hoping for something, somewhere, sometime.

You are right about no USB – use a Dante card ourselves but there are other options.

We use an iPad2 with the MixPad app. over 5GHz wifi and it converted us – for smaller
events we no longer bother with a surface at all, just take the iPad and a MacBook (for backup).
iPad2 (at least) can take a moment to update the screen when you flick across the channels,
it does’nt take much getting used to.
For us at least, it has been very reliable.

Probably won’t be a surprise, but we’ve had the iLive some years and still really like the iLive sound quality.

We’re simply not buying any more iLive for exactly this reason, although keeping what we have –
still love the sound and flexibility of the systems. A&H have brought out 2 ranges “below”
since we last purchased iLive, both with lots of good features that cover many day-to-day scenarios
and are great value for money.
Not a hint of anything from A&H regarding iLive for a long time now, not even a software update.
