Channel linking is now available in the v1.8 firmware and QU-PAD update 🙂

Just had a quick look at the QU-PAD app and really like the new features that have been added! Shame that the Spectrograph is not included in the app update as this would be the most useful place to put it for me as I’m using a QU-PAC. Still, I’m very grateful for the features that have been added and love the QU series!

My understanding is the new QU Chrome mixers are only cosmetically different (Chrome pots). The v1.8 Chrome update is purely called Chrome as it marks the launch of the Crome coloured QU mixers but the v1.8 firmware is for all QU mixers. Basically, if you changed the black pots on your current QU mixer for the Chrome coloured ones then it would be identical to the new Chrome mixer once you’ve updated the firmware to 1.8 when it is released!?

Ah thanks. Hopefully this will become available in a future update?

Yes that’s what I thought. Maybe it will be available in v1.8. If not, could we have this feature added to QU-PAC please A&H.

Thanks for the replies. I spoke to tech support yesterday and apparently the USB port only recognises devices it’s designed to work with and powering routers is very unlikely. Giving it a go would be worth a try but it’s not been tried or recommended/supported by Allen & Heath.

I noticed that the D-Link DIR-510L router is battery powered and is rechargeable. This could be a good option as it has had very positive reviews and is dual band.

I don’t necessarily need a really long range in venues with 200+ people, I’m talking about posh hotels and church wedding services where I need the clutter of cables and equipment to be as discrete as possible.

Thanks for the link to v1.8 announcement! This looks like another excellent update!! One thing mentioned in the announcement is that the QU-PAC’s monitor sends will be increased to 11 (4 mono and 7 stereo)! I’m a little confused as to how we will be able to send these as there are only 10 mix outputs on the back of the QU-PAC (4 mono and 3 stereo)??

Where did you read about 1.8?

Will the Spectrograph or Auto Mic Mixing be available to the existing QU series in a firmware update? I bought the QU PAC earlier this year and it would be great if this has those features added!

    Hi,

I recently changed from a QU16 to the QU-PAC. At first I was a little nervous in doing this but I was able to borrow a QU-PAC for a few days to try out before I did. I have to say I was very impressed with the extremely well thought out user interface. I found it had way more controllability than I expected and felt I could confidently mix entirely with the onboard controls. The QU-PAD app makes things even easier.
I use my QU-PAC for a range of gigs from small acoustic jazz gigs where I’m just running keys, upright bass and a vocal mic through FOH to corporate functions for large bands with audiences of up to 300-400 people. Having this much power and controllability in such a small lightweight box is superb and I’m loving the QU-PAC.

Yes I was surprised to find you can’t assign mixes to soft keys myself. Hopefully this will be added in a future firmware update!?

Yes it would make selecting channels a little more obvious. I often have to tweak the sound on the stage as a keyboard player and need to be able to do this whilst playing. Having assignable channel colours should hopefully make it quicker and more obvious in pressing the correct channel button.

No if you make everything safe only the input source changes.
