Using some silica gel packs to help remove any excess moisture would also be a good idea.

What firmware was in the desk? Did you update the console to the latest firmware?
I’m not sure what role Audio Technica played in this scenario you describe, unless they are either the German company to which you refer or you are confusing Audio Technica with Allen & Heath.

That is very good news, Nicola.

Thanks for the tip, Lou. I’ll check it out.

Including the stereo input channels, thus putting them on the same layer as any top layer channels you want and lessening the need for linked faders. That was my workaround for the linked fader moving issue before they fixed it in v1.73.

I already have a Pelican case for longer distance traveling or when I need to put my gear on a truck.
What I would like to know is if the Carry Bag is a well-built, sturdy yet lightweight carrying option for my gigs that require only a small console, a laptop for playback and a few cables. I’m curious about the pros and cons of this case.

V1.73 solved the issue of linked faders suddenly moving. I’ve not experienced that issue since updating.

I just took a look at the Scarlett 18i6 and there is only an ADAT input. You would need an ADAT output as well in order to use outputs from your ADAT-equipped preamps.

Adding another 8-channel preamp via Lightpipe could also add another 8 outputs, of course depending on the preamps you choose.
What Focusrite interface are you using?

GC, you’re correct. They’ve removed even more knobs on the surface of the TF, making it almost exclusively operational via the touchscreen (which, as Andreas has pointed out, is multi-touch) or via a tablet. One has to go through a lot of screens to get to things – the screens don’t appear to be laid out for easy and quick access to things, unlike a Qu. The screen on the TF3 is about the same size as the Qu-16, so for me multi-touch seems almost pointless on such a small screen.
On the physical surface of the TF3, to the left of the touchscreen, is just a blank surface where you can set a tablet (or post-it notes or stickers or a sandwich). I think that’s a waste of space and much prefer the Qu layout. I like having the knobs right there.
I have not had a chance to hear the console in action.

    GC –

… a compressor with a side chain freq range adjust…

I’d be in favor of that too!

GC, a de-esser can come in very handy for some folks using headset mics or lectern mics, especially on corporate gigs where you don’t know who will be coming up to speak.
A de-esser can also be used in moderation on a channel for an instrument that sits in the higher frequencies, such as a flute, piccolo, saxophone or other woodwind or reedy instruments. I’ve even used one on a very bright electric guitar, just to tame the 2k to 6k range when the player would power through chords in that range.
Yes, there are also a few excessively bright house systems I’ve run across. On those I just reach for the Mains EQ. I’ve found the Graphic EQ to be very handy for a quick tweak during a show.

I”m more curious than anything about it. What is the workflow appeal for this feature?

I still don’t see the purpose of this request, other than it was something you liked to see. Can any of the advocates for this explain why they would like to see this? Personally I’d much rather see the console memory allocated for something more useful, like a multiband compressor or de-esser.

I’d vote no on having DCAs move faders assigned to it.
