I use LAVs on musical theatre, and was told my predecessor that she used FX with EQ mixing to make singing better, but havent been able to figure out which ones. Do people use them or something different?
The Dyn8 is the most obvious starting place. It combines a 4 band dynamic EQ with a 4 band multi-band compressor. You can use one or both of these features as needed.
You might also be able to insert a graphical EQ (I’m not sure if you can insert this on individual channels – it might just be available on groups/aux/matrix) if you need more control to “ring out” a particular mic or group of mics.
