    Help!

    just this last weekend we noticed a static noise when plugging in our usb drive into the qu-16 qu-drive
    the static noise can only be heard when st3 input volume is turned up
    everytime the qu-drive light indicator flashes the static noise can be heard
    when recording multitrack it sounds like a steady pulse of about 80bpm
    when recording stereo it is a very fast drill noise!

    never happened before, recording via qu-drive has always worked perfect

    tried reformating the usb and even updated qu-16 firmware

    any ideas on why this is happening?

    i noticed that the qu-drive and st3 input slots are right next to eachother on the chasis… is there some sort of short or crack in the motherboard due to this mixer traveling so much?

    Never heard that before. I’d try a different USB-drive first.

    What’s connected to ST3 ? Could that be the culprit ?

    Is the grounding on the mixer ok ?

    Good luck !

    @dre452

    There shouldn’t be any noise relating to Qu-Drive on the ST3 input, but you’re right that they’re on the same physical board internally.
    Please contact your distributor (https://www.allen-heath.com/community/distributors/) to arrange to get your Qu checked over, and serviced if required.

    Thanks,
    Keith.
