We have not been able to plug anything into the headphone jack on our SQ5.
A 1/4 plug will not fit into the jack. It Fits into the hole, but there is a brass-looking sleeve
that is smaller than 1/4 inch diameter that blocks more than about the very tip from
going in. This is the way our console came when new.

Is this sleeve some type of special jack, or is it a foreign object? I’ve tried
to remove it by using a small plastic rod to align the brass to the opening hoping it
might pop out but no such luck. Have not yet tried to remove it.

Here’s a photo looking down into the jack from the top.

It looks like the tip of a 1/4″ headphone plug is broken off inside the jack.

    I would suggest that, too.
Happened to me quite some time over the last decades. Either it was my own headphone jack breaking, or I found the leftover of someone else.
Why this could be on a new console is strange.

I going with a pulled off tip from a headphone plug as well.

Sort of taking a the side panel off the mixer to get to it maybe a going to
a jewelry watch repair shop or a good lock smith they could get it with some
    really small tweezers.

It most likely still stuck in tip connection of the jack.

Thanks for the hints! I used a very small set of forceps to grab the ring
and pull, and a jeweler’s screwdriver to get the tube to clear the jack all
around. Photo shows what came out. Headphone jack works fine now.
