Unfortunately, there is no way of muting audio on the SQ automaticly from a GPIO input. You would need to create a mute group and assign it to a soft key, thats what I had to do with my dLive. Allen & Heath does makes a GPIO device, but it only works with AHM, dLive, or the Avantis.
If you are using a DSP (digital signal processor), like Q-Sys or Bi-Amp, you can program an input from the Fire Alarm system to mute all the amplifier outputs automaticly. You could also have the circuits for the console and amps shut down during a fire alarm condition, but I recommend against this, if possible, because it doesn’t shut them down nicely and can potentilly cause some issues.
However, I would HIGHLY recommend getting your fire alarm technician involved because the fire alarm system is classifed as life safety, and in many locations, only certified technicians are allowed to service/work on them. They would need to program the fire alarm to send the correct signal to the DSP or device for it to work properly. You wouldn’t want to be held responsible if something doesn’t work right and results in someone getting hurt.
I also want to adress this, in many areas, fire code mandates that a public address system must mute upon activation of the fire alarm and cannot be overidden by the user (I think), so please check your local fire codes.
