I’ve been reading SQ6 manuals to decide if it’s the right fit for our venue. The only confusing thing to me are the Global Direct Out settings in the Channel/Mix Settings screens. Exactly what does ‘Global’ mean? If I make those settings does ‘Global’ mean that those settings apply to every input channel / mix / matrix, and therefore I cannot customized them for each channel? Or does Global mean that yes, I can customize them for each channel, but they are global through all scenes and shows. The manual is unclear and I haven’t been able to find the answer in the forum. I would very much appreciate clarification on this. Thanks!

Yes, this sets the same source point and the behavior regarding the channel faders and mutes for all input channels.
Only the trim level can be set separately for each channel. However, mixes and matrixes have nothing to do with the direct outs.

Maybe with a combination of direct outs and tie lines you could at least get 2 different kinds of outputs:– tie lines share the signal after the preamp,
– direct outs follow the global direct out settings.By using either tie line or direct out for individual channels you have 2 different “direct out types”..
maybe that’s enough for you?2024/08/12 at 10:07 pm #124669RobGParticipantThank you SQuser and Tom. This is the clarification I was looking for. I know about Tie Lines. It seems weird that A&H would put such as restriction on how you tap direct out sources, but that won’t be a problem for my venue. Thank you very much and God Bless you and yours.

And can I turn on multiple of those Fader & Mute buttons at once and they’re all still independently applied to only the Post Preamp signal? The channel processing block diagram in the ref manual seems to imply yes for both questions but it’s not totally clear to me.

Maybe I’m missing something that might contradict that.
But I would say: Yes, the signals from your direct outs will follow all variations of the 5 fader/mute options, regardless of which source point you use. -
