Hello,
I’d like to have a GLD at FOH and maybe a laptop with mixing station on stage for monitor mixes, plus multitrack record. Please tell me if I understand this correctly:
The GLD at FOH would need a Dante card connected to a laptop for recording. Obviously there would be a D-snake from stage to the GLD, but I would also need an ehternet connection to the GLD for remote control so I could mix monitors from stage. Is this correct? Or can the network connection also run through the Dante port?
Thanks,

You need to connect GLD Editor or Mixing Station to the management network port on the GLD. You cannot manage from the I/O network interface directly but you could bridge the I/O and management networks by connecting them through the option card or using an Ethernet switch.

You mention bridging the management port and I/O by connecting through the option card. Do you mean via external jumper? I understand running them both into a switch. But obviously this only applies to protocols that are ethernet compatible. Dante, Ethersound, Waves, ACE (but doesn’t do multitrack record?), did I miss any?
Thanks!

On the Waves card it is possible to plug the management port into the secondary port of the I/O card to bridge the two although some people have reported issues it was shown as a supported setup at one time.
I guess I will defer on the Dante card. I don’t know for sure that you can use the secondary port for this purpose with Dante. You may need to use a switch to bridge the networks. I’ll defer to someone more experienced with Dante.
