Hi Guys
I control Nuendo and Protools with my Avantis (V1.10) with midi control 2.00
It works with Mackie control for Nuendo and Cubase / Hui for Protools.
But i have a big problem with the automation with all the daws.
I write a first passage in latch mode as the touch mode is impossible.I can read the faders automation from the daws.
But if i want to edit that automation while the daws are reading, i can’t write a second time with the avantis fader, as it’s blocked by the daw. Some idea ?
I fear it comes from the midi control software, but not sure…Other point:
The midi track names on the avantis are well displayed with protools but are not with nuendo or cubase. Thanks in advance.

So you can do multi passes?
I seemed to remember when the Avantis first came out I asked the question if the faders were touch sensitive and the reply was yes 🙂
So surely I would have thought you would be able to change modes for multi pass adjustments?I dont have an Avantis but hope we are the same page or topic here.
And get can get around that issue in a different way2021/03/30 at 9:00 pm #100267AnonymousInactiveSurely there must be further discussion about this
from someone using Avantis as a DAW controller?2021/03/30 at 11:18 pm #100268volounteerParticipantavantis is overkill for a DAW controller
2021/03/31 at 2:11 pm #100277Nicola A&HKeymasterThe Avantis faders are touch sensitive, however the touch information isn’t passed on as a MIDI message to the driver. This is technically possible, but low on the list for Avantis development at present.
Philippe is right that latch/touch automation modes wouldn’t work, but that is true across most of our digital mixers, which are primarily designed for live mixing as opposed to a dedicated DAW controller.

I think one guy on the dlive forum speak about faders resistance.
I fear, he is experiencing what i speak about.I know the avantis is more dedicated to the live.
And even for the studio with all the audio in dante , the avantis is so cool will all the bands i work with!So do you think for now i have to get a small daw control to complete my avantis set-up ? ( like a presonus fader port8 / ssl uf8/ avid s1….)
As i really need fader automation to mix movies, and tv shows..Thanks in advance

only you can decide what you need to do based on what/how you are doing something as well as your personal preferences
personally I would rethink my workflow approach to mix for movies and tv
