Hello,
have the SQ6 delay on groups and matrixes? It’s not working, just on auxes and main buses… Anyone help? Thanks2020/01/17 at 6:30 pm #88789My old iLive has a delay on groups. SQ no? I used them for delaying subs in end-fire configuration…

I tried it just on Headphones first and PAFL is PRE-DELAY on Groups and Matrixes and no configurable as on Auxes.2020/01/21 at 4:56 pm #88916again RTFM
output solo is AFL/PFL switchable, that applies to all outputsif AFL selected you should hear the delay

2020/01/22 at 3:17 pm #88964In the PAFL config page you can set it to be POST delay.

No matter, most important is, that the delays are on physical outpust.
2020/06/15 at 11:45 am #92595I agree. On Headphones a Delay is not heard, AFL or PFL. It should be according to the flowchart in the manual. The delay’s are working though, and that is the most important thing, I once again agree with you. Not a big deal, but can be confusing. So maybe A&H can look into it, and fix it ?
2020/06/15 at 12:00 pm #92597Surely one wants all outputs to align when listening on headphones?
You can delay the whole h/p output if you’re a long way from the source. I don’t really see why hearing the delayed signal would be useful.2020/06/15 at 12:05 pm #92598signal flow diagram says:
MAIN, AUX and MTX PFL/AFL sourced Pre-Delay
GRP PFL/AFL sourced Post-Delayso the Delay on groups should be heard
one more thing to keep in mind:
the delay is not output related, it’s bus related
every bus could be sent to many outputs and it always has the same delay applied
this is different then on some other consoles on the market (Yamaha)
and it applies for level control as well2020/06/15 at 4:40 pm #92605Thanks for the reply. The Delay I am refering to is in the Matrix Master. Lower diagram on pg.108 of the ref.manual. Just playing around here I did the following:
Set up LR speakers and behind the listener an extra speaker.
LR speaker fed by Matrix one (which is fed by Main LR)
Mono speaker in back fed by Matrix two.
As a percussion player having fun with a SQ , I play a sound with some heavy FX, coming out the Speakers LR.
But the FX I routed in an Aux, which on its turn is routed to Matrix two (feeding the mono speaker in the back)
In the PAFL tap I set ‘Additive’ on and ‘Output AFL’ off. Then engaging the PAFL for Matrix one ánd two, and playing around with the Delay of the Matrix two master (which was set to ‘In’), I expected to get some feedback in the headphones of me playing with the Delay . That does not work, giving the impression the Delay does not work. Listening to the speakers , the Delay does work (and the effect is very nice).
Looking at the diagram on pg108, makes me think I should get feedback of this action on the headphone.Absolutely no big deal. Just playing around and now I know.
Only I found this old post, where someone reported this behaviour of the SQ, and just felt I wanted to agree with him.
