• I tried to do this last summer with a Microtik CRS328 but the 1.8 firmware wasn’t out yet so the dLive wasn’t playing nice with VLANs and trunks.
    I’m keen to revisit.

Did you actually manage to get the DX protocol working through the switch? I battled with this for days but kept getting glitches.

Now they have removed the vlan tagging from…[Read more]

  • In a bit of a bind a couple of days out from a show and wondering if there are any dLive hardware gurus out there that can help.
my S Class 48 rack has stopped booting, no lighting on the front other than network if you plug in to the network ports (not dante, GigAce or ME etc).
I’ve raise a ticket with A&H but trying my luck here as a last…[Read more]

  • Is there a way to get stereo channels in the AMM or are the plans to make this possible in the future.
I’ve got a gig where the keyboard player plays 3 keyboards and the levels are a bit all over the place so the AMM would actually be the perfect solution to smoothing it all out without compressing.

  • I’m still battling this. I’ve resorted to fibre media converters over another pair in the fibre.

I have it all working but the CPU in the switches is running at 100% and dropping packets.

It appears the expander traffic is leaking into the cpu and overloading it so I just have to figure out how to stop this happening.

    I won’t give up till…[Read more]

  • I’ve opened a support request on this as well but I thought I’d ask the community as well. If I can get this issue solved I’ll do a write up and maybe even a tutorial video on how to set it up as I think it could be very useful for a lot of companies who are trying to implement multi network fibre solutions (Dante, NDI, Lighting etc all down a…[Read more]

  • Ok thanks. Looks like it must just be later 3 settings on the vlans. I’ll have a play. Thanks for the link.

  • I’ve got a question about gigace.
We do a lot of productions where we do sound, lighting and video and we have just started using NDI for video (it’s like Dante for video).

We want to go to a single cable snake solution and run all the traffic over a single fibre from FOH to stage.

We have a 10G fibre going between two microtik layer 2 swi…[Read more]

  • If the app is not going to be updated.
Would you consider releasing the source code as open source so that someone else might be able to pick it up and port it.

  • Dear A&H

Now you have showed the dLive software at PLS, can you please please please release it (even if its just tagged as beta or alpha) to this community.

I’m dying here without it out in the field!!

I have two events this weekend that require headless mixers and without software, I’m going to have to rip out the dLives from our production…[Read more]

  • Can you advise what the minimum hardware requirements will be for the iPad app.

Will it run ok on an iPad 2 or do we need to plan to upgrade all out iPads.

  • I have taken the Dante card out of my MEU
I have put the original ME-D dSNAKE/ACE card back in.
I have plugged the ME1 output on the dLive into the ME1 dSnake card.
The link/act lights are flashing on both units.
The dLive is connected into a network switch port and the ME1 network port is connected into the same switch.
I can ping the dLive on…[Read more]

  • Thanks Andrew, I’ll check that out.

    @Michael, its not for everyone.
In my situation I am often the only person doing many different tasks.
So if I am mixing video and audio at the same time, I don’t have enough fingers.
If I pressed go, started counting down, then I can forget about audio and move to the vision mixer to complete the cue.

  • I used to slam the iLive preamps pretty hard, I treated +6dB as zero on inputs and +9dB as zero on outputs.
The iLive had so much headroom it was more like an analog desk, I read that it had something like 18dB of headroom above the point where you hit the top red light.

The dLive has an absolute truckload more headroom, so to saturate it is…[Read more]

  • I used our new dLive for a live broadcast the other day.
The scene fade is FANTASTIC and is really great in a situation where you have one person mixing video and audio for a broadcast.

What would be fantastic is if in addition to a fade time you could specify a “delay time” or a “fixed execution time” for a scene to be actioned.

    If you could…[Read more]

  • thank you so much nicola, this does help, very useful and all the answers I wanted to hear.
would be great to see the DX32 expanders and options soon.

  • ohhh, one more question, are there one or two SBC’s in the dual screen version?
and if the surface has VGA ouput and supports another touch screen, does the second screen mirror the onboard screen or can you extend onto another external screen?

  • Hi Guys,

Firstly well done on the dLive, it looks fantastic, can’t wait for pricing and a few questions to be answered before placing our orders.
The surface and layout look brilliant. I have a few questions I’m hoping you can answer now the cat is out of the bag.

    – Bit Depth – all of the stuff online is saying its 96bit, but in the tech specs…[Read more]

  • Thanks all, I have rocked it with Groups and it worked great. Thanks for the fast response.

@George on the iLive the physical inputs and outputs and channels can be independent of each other.
That means you can soft patch any physical or even virtual input / output onto any channel (or bus as it turns out).
The reason why you could have left…[Read more]

  • Yes. exactly, that is what I am doing.
Sending the effects send on a mono Aux out set to post fade and routed out a physical output.
    That part is easy.

What I can’t figure out is where to set the source of the effects returns so they use a physical input instead of an internal effect.
I have been fiddling with the patch bay on the ‘back panel’ of…[Read more]

  • I have plenty of spare inputs, some of the channels are copies of another input so I am not using all my physical inputs.
What I am short on is channels, I am using all 64.
Yes, the 8 stereo effects returns on the iLive do not consume any of your 64 channels they are in addition.

What I would like to do is assign the input of the returns to a…[Read more]
