Out of curiousity I’ve tested this too and I can get 0.2 sec delay but I have to pull my finger away a bit from the sliderwindow te be more precise.

2016/10/20 at 2:18 pm #58758Yep, and with the help of a little program called Airfoil one can even stream to the Airport from a Windows computer. Works like a charm !

2016/10/20 at 11:33 am #58753Good idea ! It would indeed spare the extra switching back to the faders and back to the meters screen again.

2016/10/19 at 7:04 am #58731@ TS: I’m a week ahead of you as I’ve done the exact same thing. Bought a new AE, downloaded the airport-app and was able to configure the router exactly as I wanted including the name you’d like to use for it.
Then connect it to your mixer, log your Ipad, comp or whatever into the wifi network the AE is providing and your of to the races.
I haven’t tried it live yet but testing around the house gave me confidence that it’ll work fine.Good luck !

2016/10/14 at 7:03 am #58679If I may: what you’re probably missing is that one way or the other you need to funnel all the separate tracks coming from your Qu into one mono or stereo track. Nothing unusual about that.
F.i. Your DAW AA can do that for you. Connect the output of AA to Skype and your good to go it seems…
Ride the trackvolumes or use the solobuttons to single out particilar tracks.Good luck !

2016/10/13 at 1:35 pm #58669Good point…
On the other hand: as it is now I’m 100& sure I have to take additional action and how big are the chances a second guy is also logged in as admin. If need be he can always change his custom layers.
Maybe it’s even possible to make it optional: “do you also want to store custom layers ? yes/no”

2016/10/13 at 8:35 am #58665Ah, that explains it.
That’s going to the feature request thread then.
Thanks Andreas (and stay tuned for the next question !)

2016/10/12 at 10:04 pm #58661Yep, succeeded !
So, the next question obviously: next friday I have to mix a band but I’m going to use the old analog board I think because I’m not confident enough yet. However, I’d like to try to record the show just as an experiment.
I’ll be using the direct outs of the board into the Qu-SB.
I’ve prepared a “show” for this named 18 track recording. I have saved the scene and also saved it as a show to the usb-drive. Now, if I log in on a second Ipad as an admin and recall either the scene or the entire show it will not load the custom layers I’ve made. All the rest is there. Am I missing something ?

2016/10/11 at 10:00 pm #58641Haha ! Yeah, sorry about that 🙁
To save as many channels for the drums (iem) as possible I was thinking to run the keyboard via input(s) ST1. That’s no problem for the FOH sound. But when I attempt to record the 18 channels (16 normal + ST1 = 2) that doesn’t work as ST1 defaults to mains L+R during recording to the Q-drive. Mr. keyboard ain’t going to be happy if he’s not recorded I faer….
You see ?

2016/10/11 at 8:25 pm #58639Allright, so I received my Qu-SB today. Ran into the first potential problem: I was anticipating to hook up the (stereo) keyboards to ST1 in. Testing with an MP3 player confirms that’s no problem. However, if I attempt to multitrack to the Q-Drive, track 17 + 18 change to LR out when I arm the recorder. I tried to change the patch I/O but to no avail unfortunately. I reckon I can tackle this by hooking up a DAW to the USB B port but it would be nice if I could leave my laptop at home.
Ideas anyone or am I sol ?
Thanks.

2016/10/08 at 9:21 am #58597Thanks Bob, I’ve looked into those. They don’t get too glowing reviews 🙁 Which exact type do you use ?
Another question, this time about Qu-drive: can I use one and the same drive for both recording/playback, scene/show storage and reading and firmwareupdates when needed ?
Thanks !

2016/10/04 at 7:03 am #58530Thanks so much guys ! I took the first step and ordered a new Air 2 and one of these days I think I’m gonna go ahead and order QU-SB. There’s no reason not to actually…
Another question: I’m used to using headphones a lot for various things during mixing. The only practical solution I can think of is going wireless on that too but it turns out it’s quite easy to spend more money on that than on the mixer alone. Am I missing a cheaper solution ?
Thanks !
