On an FX per track basis you’ll need to……….

    1. Press the “Setup” button. Then go to I/O Patch tab—>USB Audio. Set the CH/ST/Group source to Direct Outputs
    2. Press the “FX” button. On any of the FX you wish to record open its “Back Panel” and select “Insert” from the patching choices towards left hand side then select “Input #” from the input drop down where # is the channel number you wish to record FX on.
    3. Press the “Routing” button and the channel select button of the channel you are recording FX on. Then choose the point at which you wish to record from. That will need to be at least “Post Insert” for the FX you have just inserted but you might also want the EQ or compressor in which case you will need to choose the relevant option.
    4. Switch to the processing screen for the channel you are recording and make sure the “Insert” is turned on as well as any of the channel processing EQ etc. you wish to record

It’s unbelievable that I cannot open a 44.1 Pro Tools session when using a Qu console. I have to change PT playback engine for another much more cheaper and ridiculous audio interface, convert all session (sometimes with a lot of tracks) to 48K, do the things I wanna do with Qu and convert back the session in 44.1 to send back to the customer. Nobody will convince me that sample rate conversion doesn’t degrade audio quality. Maybe I’m wrong then I´ll move to trash all the things I’ve learned about aliasing, jitter, dithering, clock generator, etc

I had this issue with my DAW (although I was aware I would when I purchased the QU).

All I did was convert the audio files using Izotope’s bulk resample in RX4 but there are plenty of freebie sample rate convertors out there that will handle bulk converts. Not sure about Pro tools but with my DAW of choice “Cakewalk” changing the sample rate of the files in the project audio folder automatically changes the project sample rate on re-opening. I did have some files that appeared to be truncated within the project which is apparently a result of my “converting the files behind Cakewalk’s back” but re-importing the same file fixed that issue. That allowed me to keep all of the other project data such as automation and envelopes etc intact with the minimum of effort.

Hi. I am a Windows user.

Yes I appreciate the QU range is great. It’s a big step up from my old ZED and I’m not knocking it or regretting buying it.

I think it’s because it’s so much better I’m surprised it doesn’t have the ability to send a wider range of MIDI messages from the soft keys.

It’s not the end of the world though. Just an idea for a feature request that would be helpful to me and my workflow.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply. I already have an MCU+XT for my main DAW control. It’s just I always found the MIDI buttons on my ZED really handy for several quick functions assignments/resets etc while tracking but it’s no big issue. Just thought it would be an option for improvement if at all possible.
