They do make the AES3 cards that fit into the DM/CDM card slots. I know you said analog I/O, but that could do the same sort of thing. No TB mic input, but PA outputs.

Recall filtering “insert attributes” is the way to have a scene recall something about an insert. That means it can recall any parameter of an insert, so that can be handy or frustrating depending on how you are working. I’ve done this two ways:

Option #1 is bypassing and un-bypassing the insert in the scenes. This causes a brief interruption of audio, but if you’re able to use this function when the channel isn’t “live” or being used it’s obviously unnoticeable.

Option #2 is accomplished by changing the wet/dry ratio of the insert. Turning dry to 0dB and wet off, you’ve effectively bypassed the insert. Doing it this way you can have uninterrupted audio of the channel/mix, but the insert is “turned off/on.”

Found the lighting person. JK. That sounds like a really cool feature!

Hi Franck, where are you located? I’m in the US and wasn’t even aware Beyerdynamic made RF gear! Curious if that’s a pretty standard brand of RF where you are located or if it’s as rare as it is here. That may be why it’s not been integrated into the dLive like Shure and Sennheiser.

aaronz, I agree that 12 faders would be more appropriate for the form factor. The SQ5 faders feel crowded to me. But a half-size Avantis would be excellent! Seems like a solid choice for smaller gigs/installations that still require the complexity and flexibility Avantis is capable of. Would also be a killer production console in a multiple-act setup.

Having less analog/AES i/o but still having two card slots would be great in my world, but curious what others would rather sacrifice.

Exactly what I was thinking. Love the idea of an easier way to switch between exclusive and additive though. Perhaps having an option in the List/Options/Name/Help area once something is in PAFL that would allow the swap or even allow a one-time additive PAFL until PAFL is cleared and then it would go back to exclusive.

This would be incredibly helpful. Guess I got spoiled with the depth of DiGiCo macros so it’s deflating to need so many uni-task buttons.

Yes absolutely, copy and clear layers would be wonderful!

C1500 can be tight. You can use scenes to recall fader strip assignments (which I think is what you were referring to), and I’ve used this to create multiple virtual layers of faders (in addition to your ABCDEF layers) for different parts of the show, etc. Basically as many as you want, or at least as many as you can put on softkeys.

Scenes is your best bet. You can assign specific scenes to softkeys.

Gotcha, I see your issue with ganging. In my installed sound gig, the PA has LR and Subs inputs. The fills feed sums the LR channels in the DSP. So from the dLive, I run a regular LR master, then use it to feed a stereo matrix (LR PA input) and a mono matrix (Subs PA input). You could do this and add another mono matrix, but it sounds like you want to feed them all different things, so that might not work as well in your scenario.

I see both sides of this. Like, you’ve got the DX012 for outputs, have a 1U box with 12 inputs with preamps. Heck, even 8 preamps and 4 outputs in 1U would be useful (half of the DX168, much less bulk).

If you have a network that allows VLANs, are you able to set up the control VLAN on wi-fi? That way your Dante Virtual Soundcard could operate on the wired network port of the computer and then Director could be accessed via wi-fi.

You will most likely need to change service order in your network settings if doing so, so that your control network (wi-fi) is at the top and then you’ll be good.

I have a dLive on 1.93 that was just able to detect 2 new ULXD receivers, if that’s helpful.
