I think I found a better way to describe what I want to do if anyone knows how I can adapt this workflow to the QU-24.

Remember the older Mackie analog boards? You can hit the mute button on a channel, which will mute the track, and route its audio to another stereo bus called ALT 3-4.

I want to use that same option to select which channel sources to send into my mpc for recording/looping.

Then I can run the output of the mpc back into the QU-24 and monitor the channel inputs of the MPC without creating a feedback loop, because the original track is muted in the monitors.

Is it possible to adjust mix output levels from line level to mic level? This might fix my issue. I’m using mix 5-6.

So if you try to move the faders against the motor to, will it damage the fader or motor? How do you write new automation in the middle of a song without destroying what automation you have already written?

I figured it out. I ran an update for Cubase and everything started working.

I’ve got each channel set to local. Usb set to stream over usb B. I was able to get audio to come through in Reaper, but not cubase. Another strange thing in cubase is if I hit record, then stop the recording the wav deletes automatically from the timeline. No signal records though. I’ve been using Cubase for many years with a firepod with no problems. I’m about to reinstall and try on a different computer. I’m also unclear on routing cubase outputs to my studio monitors, that are connected to he main outs on the board, if anyone can help explain this.

I’ve been trying to get the qu24 to record in Cubase 5 all day. I have successfully set up the custom layer to control midi, but I can’t get any tracks into Cubase. Can someone help me get set up? I’ve set up the VST connections as 24 mono inputs all routed correctly. On the QU24 under Setup/USB Audio I have each channel set to its corresponding channel. I’m not seeing any meters moving at all in Cubase though. Any ideas?
