to answer my own question about my QU-16 working with my DAW Personus studio one pro yes it works perfect. im not to happy with the midi control its really glitchish real sluggish but I don’t need it anyway I just thought it would be cool to control the faders by the QU . im not lazy and it don’t really matter to me besides I am stoked that I can actually record the fx settings when im recording . my SL 16.0.2 wouldn’t do anything like that I would have to add the FX in the DAW . I really didn’t like the FX in the DAW .

hey tom I just got rid of my presonus SL 16.0.2 I used it with my IMAC for recording with there software I have the studio one 2 pro I have to say I have gotten great results with the software I sold the SL because I didn’t like the FX or not having the motorized faders. I wanted the beheringer x32 producer but Guitar center wont sell that line anymore they suggested the A&H QU-16 . I did some homework and now wed I will pick mine up .im going to use it as a DAW for my software with my mac and as a Mixer with my powered PA speakers . as far as I know the studio one 2 pro software will work with the mixer . if not then I will invest in to REASON or something else. Good luck

hey all I want to say man I wish I could do what you guys do for a living. im 54 and a Drummer (please don’t hold that against me LOL) I have always been in the back ground while the sound guys sat in the crowd playing with the mixing board. about 3 years ago I got the recording bug . I have always wanted a Roland VS-2480 But settled for a VS-2400cd instead I know it was yes if anything outdated. old. big ect but I loved the thing . I gave 500.00 bucks for it and then spent another 200.00 on a UA compressor bundle the LA2A and the other one sorry the name escape’s what’s left of my mind. anyway I had it 3 months and turned it on one day and I wouldn’t record sound or playback sound anymore needless to say after spending another 100.00 shipping Roland told me it needed a main board and for 1000.00 They would fix it . NO I DONT THINK SO . I got it back and sold the fx cards and the UA stuff and got back some of my money . I still have the VS-2400 upstairs waiting for the day I buy a boat then I can use it for an anchor . after my dreams of recording on the machine of my dreams went to crap I decided to invest into some software. well I got some free software from presonus when I bought some studio monitors so I decided to check it out BINGO I was hooked the DAW was my new best friend . I went from a ZOOM r16 interface to a Personus studio live 16.0.2 I just sold the 16.0.2 so I could buy my A&H QU-16 im getting it this week . IM hooked I have been recording my band and having a blast learning all the EQ tricks and compressors delays reverbs ECT. my wife of 28 years don’t get it . I spend most of my free time watching videos and playing with my equipment . IM sick and I know it . I would give anything to be able to this sound thing fulltime Lucky you guys . I have worked in the Auto repair industry for 30+ years till 5 years ago when I Shut down a shop I owned for 7 years due to our economy falling on its face back then . Keep on rocking you guys I love reading all these post you can check out my band recordings still a bit amateurish but getting better at http://www.drumtraxx.com on the band demo page . Thanks for listening to me ramble on . Just call me a dreamer

oh ya I am using a mac with the latest install of mavericks iMac 3.5 gh with 16 gig ram and a 1 tb hard drive I just ordered a Seagate plus it was on the list of drives that had been tested to work with the QU-16 I think it was 500 gb if it don’t work the worst case is it will become a time machine for my wife’s iMac. im glad that these usb thumb drives are cheep I will have to experiment with a couple . worst case with them is ill use them for my td-30 drum module for putting on my vex kits cant have enough vex kits LOL. I had downloaded the midi drivers from the website for the mac . I know im putting the cart in front of the horse I pick up my QU-16 probably weds but by then everything I have ordered will be here . I just don’t like needing something and it not be here . thanks I will let you know if my software jives with my hardware. until then its lots of reading the pfd manual and finding videos on YouTube thanks again

im totally new to this mixer QU-16 im picking it up wed from guitar center . first off what hard drive will work with the q drive system and dose it have to be powered . I thought I saw a video where they were demoing a hard drive but it looked like it was just usb real slim and no sing of a power cord. and maybe im in the wrong forum but I use presonus studio one 2 pro DAW cant seem to get a answer from presonus other than they don’t have time to test every mixer . I like that software and really hope its compatible with the QU-16 im buying any body have any answers . I have been using the presonus 16.0.2 mixer Thank you everybody
