For the 1st question; setup screen, Audio tab and set Output AFL to OFF. Now you can use PAFL on the LR Mix and the mute key will only affect your monitors.
2014/12/30 at 4:29 am #44188Just to be sure you get it because I noticed you mentioned ratios for beats and notes; 1 beat = 1/4 note so 1/2 beat is a 1/8 note and 1/4 beat is a 1/16 note.
2014/12/30 at 3:56 am #44187I like to run some delays on 1/2 beat or 1/4 rather than on the beat
The board and/or you would need to know the BPM to work with the concept of ratio (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc). So take out your calculator app and do some simple math
60 000ms / BPM = 1/4 notes in ms so for example your song is 90 bpm : 60 000 / 90 = 667 ms for a 1/4 note delay
That also means that, when you tap to the beat, you already have your 1/4 note delay so you probably mean something faster like 1/8 or 1/16 note so just divide the given time on the tap delay screen by 2, 4 or 8 for 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32.
2014/12/30 at 3:05 am #44185Cubase don’t seem to care about the velocity when using a generic control. That’s why you won’t be able to get the LEDs (lamps) to work properly.
2014/12/28 at 12:34 pm #44166– only* the QU16 has faders which only exist on the custom layer (DCAs)
Same for the 24. DCAs are only on the custom layer. They were not available before firmware 1.5.
2014/12/27 at 5:00 pm #44157You are right. Only faders and buttons on custom layer.
2014/12/27 at 3:18 pm #44155For the buttons, you’ll have to change it from Note Off to Note On in Cubase but you won’t get the led to work properly.
2014/12/26 at 11:58 pm #44148In Cubase, Devices, Device setup, Add a Remote Device and select Generic Remote. From there you can make Cubase “learn” the console and assign the commands. Make sure you checked the “learn” box. Check this video for more details if you don’t know what to do from there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeNyL136b64
2014/12/26 at 10:21 pm #44145Did you change the source of the channels on the Qu? Select a channel, processing screen and then source on the bottom (with the Fn button). Set it to USB Streaming for all the channels you want to stream from Cubase
2014/12/26 at 9:51 pm #44143Did you click “Add bus” in the VST connections screen (Device menu)?
2014/12/24 at 12:29 am #44111Glad to know you figured it out 🙂 Enjoy your mixer!
2014/12/23 at 4:37 pm #44105Don’t know Sonar at all but many DAW will use output 1 and 2 as your main output by default but you should be able to change that. Also, check Setup/Output Patch/USB Audio on the QU to make sure you assigned them.
2014/12/23 at 4:31 pm #44104Made in China can be great if you have someone who can go check the manufacturing to make sure they don’t cut corners. My board was made in China (Qu-24) and I’m not worried at all about it’s built quality.
2014/12/21 at 5:34 am #44080Don’t know much about Garage Band since I’m a Windows user. Did you select the input channel for the track also? I know it’s basic stuff but I don
t know your level so I
m starting from the beginning. See if that can help https://support.apple.com/kb/PH2064?viewlocale=en_US. Also, can you get sound from your Mac to the board?2014/12/20 at 5:09 am #44072dhak, well the problem with the DAW I tried, is that they receive the messages but they won<t let me map anything else than CC messages. I’m just saying that it may or not work depending on your DAW.
