Use the time on the CQ4You or CQ-MixPad app, that way there’s no need to implement NTP or manually entering the time 🙂

I wholeheartedly agree –this would be very helpful to keep track of recordings.

+1 For now, I have nearly 20 multitracks with the same names and timestamps – it`s a problem

Agree 100% – the date stamps and default file naming conventions in the CQ series are redonkulous – this should be an extremely minor fix via firmware release, and having 2 pages of “+1” comments really should elevate this request to a prioritized dev track

Ps. I find it frustrating that there is nothing from A&H back to the forum about which feature requests are being considered – that means we’re all just flying blind requesting stuff that we each think is important, all with no indication back to us on acceptance, timing, etc. so I made that a new feature request – please +1 if you agree that’s a valid request

    Hi,

I think that if it was easy as a simple software feature it would already be done. 🙁

Allen & Heath does not answer on this… Perhaps they’re is no clock chip in the CQ Series ?

I cant even grasp the complexity of the CQ firmware/operating system, but would it not be a good idea if the CQ does not have a system clock persay to extract the time from a connected device? Otherwise Im guessing its more a hardware build issue adding a system clock and battery like a PC than it is a software issue. So everytime you hit record the time is grabbed from connected device if it is there, obviously it us with the CQ20

I realise that without RTC hardware, date/time is not persistent, but is there any way for the system to simulate elapsed time since boot-up without RTC hardware?

As happy as I am with my CQ18, if there really is a hardware limitation that prevents timestamps for recordings, I feel like thats an unfortunate decision on A&H’s part… It’s not like this is some exotic feature…

Same request.. any help to differentiate takes/nights

Even a prompt for a session name when setting up a recording with a toggle to name/skip each time.
