    Hello,
    First post here,
We have an SQ5 connected to a GX4816 then to a DX168 connected to DX1 on the GX4816,
Every so often we can hear a clicking sound from the GX and the DX and it drops the DX168 for a couple of seconds then comes back. Any audio from the DX is out at the same time this happens.
The SQ has v 1.5.10 firmware.
Anyone else experience this or heard of this issue?
Any help is is always appreciated.
    Thank You

    Hi Hinkley,

I’m sorry to hear that you have an issue with your I/O device.
This could be the result of several things and will need proper investigation.
Please open a support ticket at support@allen-heath.com and one if the team will be happy to help.

Have you tried running some temporary cat cables for a test?
How long are the cable runs, the cable type, termination type?

Maybe take the boxes to mixer and connect them with some short cables to see what happens.

Hello and Thank You for the suggestions.
I have opened a case with AH.
I have am using 50 foot cables now, unfortunately with the same result.
I am now checking my cables as some have the shield not connected.
The sad part is it will work for a couple hours or a couple minutes.
Will share what we find out.
    Thank You Again

Hopefully A&H will help track down the root of the problem.

I can say that my personal experience connecting a DX168 to a GX4816 has been rock solid. I’ve never had a disconnection and have been using this setup for at least 12 months.

    Hi,
We were using a 100m cable from foh to gx4816 then another 100m cable from gx to DX168, big room, 2 stages.
I replaced some shabby looking rj45 ends with new shielded ones, seems to be holding up well now.
    We shall see.
    Thank You

You are at the max length. Is the cable one continuous piece?

    Is it shielded cat cable?
