I have a client using the Qu24 with a touring band & they run all their own IEM’s via the Qu-You app – now that the recent updates on the Qu series have allowed for the Groups to be used as mix outputs, they’re really wanting to use those as stereo outputs for the IEM’s, but while this can be achieved with the hardware & current firmware, the app is the weak point in this solution – can the Qu-You app be updated to allow for accessing mix/groups as per auxiliaries if they’re in that configuration?
It would be an idea if the QU-You app could transmit Audio for a out the box in-ear monitoring solution, as it already connects of 2.4ghz transmission, as a digital mics would.. Is their any developments for this??
Too much latency in WiFi to be useful for monitoring.
Although some mics now use the 2.4 & 5 GHz WiFi frequencies, they are using their own system, with different hardware in it, rather than standard WiFi, in order to avoid unworkable delays. Your phone can not do this.
2.4GHz is unlicensed (and therefore congested) spectrum.
The phone doesn’t have the capacity to do low latency audio. I’m not even sure the FM reception on a phone is sufficiently low latency for an IEM solution.
