Bad Idea for several reasons: 1) the SQ line was developed and designed for live performance applications and pitch shifting is best left in the studio DAW world where it started and unfortunately still resides. 2) While the SQ line does offer USB recording options, it is a long way from the operational layering versatility needed even for a limited home based project studio. 3) The entire fraudulent practice of pitch & meter correction question rests with defining the difference between enhancement vs manipulation. 4) $50. + ticket buyers will not sustain support for a “Pitchy” singer that requires electronic pitch correction.
We need to remember the fact that when the visual appearance of a given performer became more important than their level or existence of musical skill audio recording lost its credulity with the music buying public. I am “old school” in my belief that pitch and meter discipline are requisite qualities for any singer worthy of recording or performing in public!
