I have to set LR output much higher than the 1/4 outputs to get similar volume level

    For example
Mic ch – gain set to approx 30
Ch meter looks good (peaking occasionally)
Soulds good in output 1 speaker
Very low volume to main LR speaker
Also main out meter barely show signal

    Help?

Main out level depends on the master fader, the channel fader, the input gain…
And the gain staging in the PA system plays a big role too.

    Thanks –

    I have checked those things…
I do have the input gain set so that peaking in yellow and good signal there.
the channel fader is up at unity or higher
the master fader for LR xlr’s is nearly maxed out, but only a flicker on the master meter

Being sent to 1000 watt qsc k12 set at 75% output, which would normally be blisteringly loud in the house.

i have the same input channel also set to send to aux outs 1&2. Same input level. Sends level on the channel to outs 1&2 is set fairly low (maybe 30%). Out 1&2 master fader set at roughly 50% (much lower than mains above). this goes to 1000 watt QSC K8’s set at 50% volume (much lower than above)… these are WAY louder and show good level on the aux out1&2 meters

I assume that the main LR meter should show something similar to what I see on the channel meter? is that right or no?
Is there something that could prevent the channel from sending full signal to the LR outs?
Shouldn’t the LR outs and aux outs be sending similar levels to the speakers (assuming the input and channels are configured the same)?

Is there a more granular step by step guide or video that might help me? I’m not unfamiliar with digital mixers (have used mackie DL1608 for several years), but I’m stumped…I’m sure it’s a ‘learning curve’ issue and would appreciate the help – thanks!

    Yes, there are some possibilities.

    so….

for some reason, the main LR meter in my show has 2 little arrows down around the bottom.

if i reset the unit or use a stock ‘quick start’ template, the little arrows (carrots?) are gone and the levels match between LR and out 1 and 2

I can’t find the setting thqt is limiting the LR out in my show…any ideas?

    Thanks!
