My CQ20b arrived last week and is due it’s first run out at a gig on Saturday.
I’m trying to set the privacy and 5G functions up on the Network page with the Wi-Fi access point.
I follow the instructions as per the manual and all seems to be ok until I press the Apply box.
A message with the following then appears,
“Disconnection warning. Changing network settings may cause disconnection. Continue?”
If I press the OK box the unit shuts down and I have to start from scratch connecting my iPad to the CQ20.
I’ve no doubt missed something,(Not the sharpest tool in the box regarding IT)
Any help would be appreciated.
When hiding the network, before applying the changes, make a note of the network SSID/name (which will be something like CQ20B_1234) and the password you set.
Then on your device, you should have the option to connect manually to a network, enter the network name, choose WPA2 for security (if available) and use your password to connect.
If you have already hidden your network before making a note of it, you will have to reset the CQ and start again. But before you select to hide your SSID, make a note of it. It will be something like CQ20B_*****.
Its the last 4 digits of the serial number by default, which is on the unit and packaging.
The SSID is shown on the network screen too, so guessing you’ve got a CQ-20B – in which case, you could also reset only the network connection as shown in this video – https://youtu.be/3paeL9xKxoI?si=kkOmEZtg1S6AyBL-
Has anyone found that hiding the SSID works? In my experience, it is the tablet or computer searching for known networks that causes most problems. Although mobile devices will search for available networks, I find that naming the SSID No_Internet stops people trying to connect.
However if others have found it worthwhile I might try it again.
