    Hello,

I would like to know if it’s possible with V1.9 to send a group in a group and so send group to FX.

It’s already possible to send group signals to aux… Use Aux to insert FX

Yes you can do an insert of an FX on a group but you still can’t send a group to an FX bus. This was the biggest thing I wanted in v1.9. I’d gladly trade DymEQ and the new compressor for this ability.

Well, you need just a free input, output (or pair) and short XLR cable :)

That’s what I do now. I loop from the surface outputs back to the surface inputs via a TRS patch cord. But it costs me an IP and it induces another around of AD/DA and more latency to that group.

You can mix the group into an aux and use that aux to feed the effect. Nothing new to 1.9 but quite handy sometimes.

If you want to use the external loop, why not use the SPDIF in/out? No ADC/DAC roundtrip there…

But it’s hard to understand why you can send groups to auxes but not to FX sends. It’s basically the same…

I’m already using the SPDIF In/Out for a remote two track recorder (with monitor return). Even if it wasn’t it wouldn’t let me do more than one stereo group and my standard setup is 3 stereo groups and 2 mono groups.

    David,

do you need those 3 groups to be routed to one FX or several? You still can have several groups routed to matrix and then connect it to pair of inputs or you can route the groups to AUX (or Auxes) and switch the FX unit input to use AUX instead of FX in.

basically, the idea is to create a group so I could for example mix down everything but the lead with one fader or compress that same group. the drum would be before it in a subgroup.
Exactly the way to work with bus in protools for example.
I understand that they are solutions to that, but not enough versatile for me.
    Thanks,
