    Hi,

I’m looking into some multi track recording options for integrating on my ilive system, and DANTE seems to be interesting.
However, when I downloaded the free trial version of the Dante Virtual Soundcard software, I wasn’t able to install it.
After the initial installing steps, it rolls back and says there was an error, please try again. It won’t specify the error.
I have Windows 7, and already installed Bonjour for windows, but that hasn’t solved the issue.
If I can’t even install the trial version, I’ll be afraid to invest in the whole system.

Can anyone help me out here?
    Thanks in advance

When you run the setup file make sure you right click and select “run as administrator”.

    So,

OOPSS. I downloaded the 32Bit option, and I’m running Win7/64Bits
    Talk about a rookye mistake!

So it’s installed, but when I press the ON button it says:

    DVS Error
    Audio Driver Failed (512)

    What am I missing here?
Currently I’m just running this withou anything connected since I don’t have the M-Dante card yet. Can I test this without the hardware?

    Thanks…

There must be at least one physical Dante device in the network, otherwise you will get that error.

Wow, I didn’t know that. How come they did not include this simple note in that message window? That would save lot of voodoo and guessing.

Actually you can turn DVS on provided you are connected to an active NETWORK. There doesn’t need to be a Dante device on the network. When you open the DVS config software just make sure the Network connection box shows an active connection ( yellow/green LEDs) either 100 mbit or 1000 before you attempt to turn on DVS.

    Cheers
