Guess not that there will be any major update including new features. Why? With software updates you cannot earn money.

Lets put a few more dollars in and upgrade our SQs to the new Avantis solo. That is what makes the vendors happy 🙃

I am running two Sennheiser IEM G4 with Stereo Mixes on my SQ5. I ve got no issues with missing low ends. EQ on the Monitor Mixes is completely flat.

If your gain staging is on 0db, then its not a problem of the SQ nor is it a problem of ME-500. Its a Problem of the „Mix“ and/or perhaps the amplifing of the IEMs. When the base is not loud enough for them, check the mix and lower the levels of the other channels. If thats not the problem and the overall mix is ok but not loud enough overall, the problem is located in the IEM amplifing. Some IEMs have perhaps set a limiter

    Hi guys,

I have a 5 Month old SQ5 with the latest 1.5.9 Firmware running.
It was always running properly without any freezes or other issues.

Today I was listening to a Multitrack via Headphones and suddenly there was a loud an constant squeaking noise on the headphones and then the SQ was frozen.
The first Reboot ended with a strange Display. Now it doesnt boot anymore.
Only a few lights are blinking.
Pushing the two buttons to force a Hardreset do not work.

I ´m using the Swissonic MKII, SQ5 and an Ipad. All devices are running each on the latest firmware and Mixpad App. Never had an issue with a connection loss. I use 5Ghz Network with a fix to channel 48 . I guess that some chipset (firmwares) do not „like“ each other

    Hi nottooloud,

So you guess Ím doing something wrong in my recording on SQ Drive? See attached pics how I route my signals to SQ Drive.
I want to record my Channels 1-8 dry. Thats why I use TieLines. Recording works properly.

I also want to record the wet signal as I send it to the PA. Therefore I send the Main L/S also to USB.

    How would you solve it?

Hi nottooloud, yes the Main L/R signals are driving the PA and the sound on the PA is wet and can be heard processed with all effects and delayed channels as I want to. And that is what I want to get recorded in parallel with my 8 other dry Input channels

With some playing around, I finally got the sidechaining working as I wanted to with compression on the FX Group

    @tobi Thanxx man!!

Thanx Tobi, nearly all is answered. Only one question is open.
When using the sidechain, is it „better“ to use the ducker or a compressor (from the library) to compress the FX signals?
I am asking this because the „curve“ from the ducker looks very different to that of a compressor.
See attachment. The left one is what the ducker looks like and on the right is what the curve of a compressor looks like

    Kind regards

    Andy

    Hi Tobi,

Thanx for your quick response. My vocals and FX groups, were already set up as Stereo groups.
All i have to do now is to find the way of sidechaining it 😅 will try my best and report

Do you have any parameters you can recommend for ducking the reverb and delay in the FX Group? Should I choose ducking for the compression or a compressor for vocals? Fast attack and fast release times I assume?

    Regards Andy

    Addendum

Í´m routing my vocal channels NOT directly to Main L/R but through a separate group (not DCA) and from there to Main L/R
I also do route my two Vocal FX first into a separate FX group (not DCA) and from there to Main L/R.
So I ´m looking for a way to duck/compress the FX group while there is enough signal on the Vocals (group) and release the FX ducking/compressing when the vocal group is getting quiter.
Hope you can understand what I ´m trying to do ?🙄

    Regards Andy
