The airport express is not the only access. Both houses have their own routers. My tour rig airport express is it’s own private network. I think that is the route I’d like to take with my Qu-SB set up. I bought a TP-Link for my QU-SB but my second Qu-PAC will be on an airport express. I’ll look into the things you pointed out, especially the step by step. I appreciate the help.

Thanks. My Qu-pac is connected through an Apple Airport Express directly and is using the wifi of my bandmate’s house. I’ll have to check the router settings for my Qu-pac tonight when I go to band practice.

I tried connecting my QU-SB directly into an Apple AirPort Extreme base station but it’s old and the disk is crashing so I went directly into an extender for my router. To connect My Qu-sb I looked at the router settings on my iPhone which was using my house wifi at the time.

I also have a second Qu-Pac that I use for playing gigs that stays in a trailer the whole time but it’s on its own private qu-pac network using an airport express. I have no recollection how I got that to work a year and a half ago but it’s worked amazingly. I remember it took me a while to get it working and I figured it out by total accident.

I’m having the same problem. I just bought a Qu-sb for home and Qu-pac for my practice studio. Can’t get either to connect to the iPad. Both iPads can connect to the wifi network. I’ve typed in the IP address when trying to connect. I get a network error. My Qu-pac is firmware version 1.94. My Qu-pad is version 1.93. That’s the lates version on the Apple App site. I do not know what my Qu-sb firmware version is because I can’t see it.

Do I need to down grade or match the QU-Pad firmware of 1.93 to get these to work?

    Thanks!!

    Hi Alex,

I really appreciate the feedback. I can see the benefit of the AR84 if I’m trying to go stereo from a keyboard into a mono on a Qu24 so I don’t use a ton of channels. I have that same issue with my Qu-pac. That’s definitely a good solution. But for now I’m trying to add more channels to my Qu-24. So it doesn’t sound like it’s going to work for me.

I’m trying to duplicate my live set up with my studio. I’m just going to sell my 24 and buy another QUPac with an ab168. Part of the problem I have is I write songs in the studio on the 24 and create scenes and then when I transfer to my QUPac the levels change because of the ab168 signals are slightly different. When I play out I have to do all the sound myself and I don’t have time to dick around with remixing at this juncture. I need to reduce set up time not create more work.

You did help me out quite a bit. Sorry if I confused you at all. I’m not a sound engineer but am I’m a two piece band with tons of electronic gear with a studio set up that stays out and a duplicate tour setup so I need everything to transfer back and forth between studio and live to reduce variation. I know there will be some adjustments that need to be made depending on the venue but the less variation the better. Some day when we have our own sound guy I’ll rethink the set up but as long as I gave to play musician and sound man I need to get rid of my mixing board.

    Thanks.

    Hi Dick,

Never saw a blue indicator light on. I found it odd no lights were on at all. The main power is connected to a furmann power conditioner. I’ve plugged it into multiple sources and I have other modules plugged into the Furmanm that have no issue. The cat5 just goes to my dSnake input on the qupac. Tonight I’m going to try a different power cord. If that doesn’t work I’m going to try it on my qu-32 at home just to see what happens. If nothing then I’m returning it.

    Thanks!

I have a qu-pac too and just tried setting up my AB168 last night and couldn’t get it to worked. I have the global setting set to USB and the AB168 on channels 17-32. However the manual also says that I should see a yellow usb symbol show up on the tool bar indicating that the AB168 is handshaking with the qu-pac. I used a cat5 Ethernet cable purchased through guitar center. They said it should work but my qu-pax doesn’t register the additional channels. Further more none of the red indicator lights are lit on the AB168 so I really can’t tell if it’s getting power.

Am I doing something wrong or is my unit DOA?

    Thanks!
