I think their statement is a bit strange.
If you look at the CAT6 standard, it states that it must be backward compatible with CAT5e.
The CAT6 standard is better for crosstalk and better transmission performance. If you look inside the CAT6 cable, the pairs are separated with a plastic X, which makes it thicker.
All and all, I don’t think you will notice any difference.
I’ve run on all strange sorts of cables including a cheap 25m unshielded CAT5e that I’ve got with my broadband.

It should work as in A&H TCP MIDI Driver Installer.
And you can use an ethernet cable direct
You can find it under firmware and software downloads.
I’m also setting this up and are going to use Dante as soundcard.

Well now I got problems with my PL-6.
The RJ-45 input connector seems to have some bended pins.
I bought some new and I’ll think I’m going to change them this weekend.

According to the pl-6 user guide AP5197 page 2, section “Grounding” The exposed metal panels are grounded through the PL-Anet cable shield. It’s also reads: Use flame retardent CAT5 STP (shielded twisted pair) RJ45 cables.

Well there I sounded like a school teacher, but we don’t have any problems with our pl-6, but we always use a shielded cable.

We had a similar issue a couple of months ago and hasn’t reproducet it.
One of the faders wen’t up and down quite fast like it had spasms.
It was during a show and luckily nothing was on that channel for the moment.
We had the wireless router unplugged almost immediately and suddenly it stopped, not sure that it was the router that interfered.
