I am having the same loop issue. Pop ups are enabled, but no luck downloading SQ Mixpad from the website. A&H – any pointers? Running an Intel MBP 10.14.6.

If you block every scene filter except “insert attribute” on whichever channel/buss Waves is actively inserted, you can make a scene where Wave inserts are patched, but bypassed.

Correct, control is always available by connecting directly to the card or to the Dante network.

If you use a cat5e jumper to connect the Dante card to a Dlive network port (with the network bridge switch turned ON), control of the Dante network is ported over GigaAce to all Dlive devices. You can control the Dante network (via Dante Controller) with a computer connected to the network port on any Dlive surface or mixrack in the system.

Correct. Waves has to be master in order to run at 48kHz. You have to set the DLive clock to slave to the Waves Card port. You will also need to set the Dante card to slave as well.

Online UPS’ are always on and are charging in the background. Standard UPS’ rely on external power and only switch to battery backup if external power goes down. The switch between external and battery power can cause a strain on electronics. Best practice is to put mission critical devices on an Online UPS (Furman F1000 or F1500 are a good option).

+1 having the ability to integrate channel select midi messages with Waves would be a huge benefit to our workflow.

Correct, this is a limitation for the virtual soundcard. You can send/receive up to 64 channels at 96k on the network, but DVS can’t receive more than 32.

You can record 64 channels by using 2 computers running DVS, but that makes virtual soundcheck nearly impossible. I chose to hold off on Dante until DVS is upgraded to better handle 96k. If you need more than 32 channels, you will want a waves card.

It will be hard to diagnose without more information. Can you tell us your signal path? Are microphones plugged directly into the mixrack or do you have any subsnake a running on stage or under stage to floor pockets? Where is the mixrack located and is it directly connected via GigaAce port to the s7000? When you say there isn’t anything sending or receiving from the console, are these local inputs/outputs connected to the surface or elsewhere? Do you see metering and hear no signal or does it appear that no signal is even hitting the input sockets?

Do you have any outboard inserts (example: waves plugins) that might have be breaking signal paths?

When you look at your home screen, do you have check marks by all your I/O connections confirming clock sync?

Yes, I have the same issue using a surface pro. Even with gesture software, I cannot access the rotary drop down from a touchscreen. Wish this would be fixed.

Looks like a great console, Nicola! I saw a post yesterday that listed “Oscillator/RTA/Spectrograph” as a feature for the Avantis. I don’t see that listed anywhere today. Can you ellaborate on A&H development of an RTA/spectrograh for this console (and hopefully future firmware releases for Dlive and SQ)?
