Mine was already at the distributors warehouse and packed for shipping last week. He called me and explained the delay due to a problem they found with the metalwork on the console. They identified the problem, but need to produce the new part. So I’d rather wait for a couple weeks and can then use my console for the coming festival season then having a console that comes up with an issue because i received it before it was thoroughly tested. I know it is frustrating, but i had the first SQ in switzerland when it came out. The distributor is your partner!

2018/06/17 at 3:42 pm #71893I run protools 12 on QU and SQ. it’s a no brainer. I’m using Mac OS X so no need for any driver. On SQ you need to create a 96khz session. I used it to mix, train our staff on the console and recording live events. For one project I did some overdubs. I’m thinking of equipping my personal project studio with an SQ5.

Any news
2018/04/11 at 7:18 am #70337There are several cards in developpement. The first might be the Dante, which was supposed to be available end of Q1 but seems delayed. The second is an SLink card. The later is a new product. In the beginning they planned on a GigAce card but the sLink is just more flexible. But don’t expect it before later this year. When the Dante become available you will be able to use the system as you planned. SQ – Dante – MU1(with Dante card) to ME1 and the slink port will connect to the DX interfaces. I had this discussion with AH at ISE in February.

2018/01/26 at 5:38 pm #68464I’ve setup a simila setup with an idr64 and an idr16 for our church. We actually used dante for the ME-U as it was simpler then what you described. We added an ace card to work with dual rack setup. All the channels that have to go to the dante need to be routed thru ace first to the slave rack, and then to dante. I could not find a simple setup with the ilive, and changes is not straight forward. D live solves the issues but was not available when we purchased the ilive. With our setup, dante in ME-U, we have all the ace channels open for routing back to master rack. The dante receiver can only receive one signal at the time. It works very stable. We are also recording every sermon using dante and tracks from waves and sometimes the worship band for virtual playback and training.

2015/02/03 at 9:22 pm #45020It doesn’t mean that if a new ilive arrives, the old will be crap. It has been one of the best sounding console for the buck. Ok they’re not as popular then the Yamaha mc7l or LS 9 but sound way bettering have great ergonomics. A similar console from an other manufacturer would cost 1/3 rd more at least. I’ve been working a lot on avid digico yamahas and soundcraft. The ilive is still one of my favorite in handling. Don’t trash your board because there is a new one on its way. I recently did a gig on a soundcraft 400b. It’s a 30+ years old console and it made the job perfectly. The problem with the digital consoles is like computers, every one wants the latest and newest and fastest they can get, but in the end they’re just using word and excel the same way the did on the last slower and older device. The output is the same.

2015/01/29 at 4:12 pm #44886I developed an app for crosscountry skiing a year ago. We went android and iOS. After a year on the market I have to realize that the iOS market is 80% vs 20% for android. The investment in developement and programming is the same for both platforms. More the 6000 units have been sold so far. We had not one technical issue on iOS but had many issues on android, (about every 50 sales). The problem with android is that there are to many different devices on the market (over 3500 models) as for iOS about a dozen. Therefor I can understand companies like a&h not offering support on android because the real investment is not the programming but the support and it would eat up,to many resources. My 2ct.
