Thats a good looking case. I just bought the Swan flightcase as in the following link, and it’s a perfect fit. My only complaint is the butterfly clasps are on the base, as opposed to the lid as in the Gator case.

That would work nicely too 🙂

For this very reason (and even in analogue desks) the manual will always state making sure 48v is off whenever plugging a mic in. I’ve gotten into the habit of always checking, as it’s a real efficient way of bricking a ribbon mic 🙂 It’s just good practice to have phantom off when plugging.

Ah I see, makes more sense when you put it like that. Personally, I’d like to see them implement SMAART somehow, probably in the QuPad app. I used the SMAART tools on my Presonus desk and whilst they’re by no means the be all and end all, they do help when flattening out a room or compensating for certain speakers. A hand held RTA with some pink noise generated works pretty well too.

Maybe I’m looking at this from a different perspective, but surely the formula of the Q width is inconsequential.

What I mean is, if you’re ‘mixing by numbers’, it might sound OK, but unless you’re using your ears to find out what that width should be, you might as well leave the EQ alone. Always know why you’re adjusting something, before you start adjusting it.

    I stand corrected then 🙂

According to that guide you just posted, it’s only the GLDs that can do it over ethernet. For the QU it has to be USB.

Yea I’m sure I’ll soon get back into using the RTA as I did before, and the ability to run it on the input stage too is cool. The spectograph (especially as it had the GEQ overlay) was still very useful. Just two different ways to do the same job I guess, but I can’t deny how much easier it was with the spectograph when ringing out.

Thanks robb, that’s one of the key features for me too having come from the Presonus. Also the ability to setup the wifi/ipad control without the need for a laptop is also a bonus.

Only thing I might miss is the SMAART tools, and the spectograph when ringing out. But who knows what updates we might get 😉
