Hello!
I accidentally overwrote a scene stored in Mix Pad for another user on our SQ5. Is it possible to “undo” this action and restore the previous scene? Is a copy stored on the tablet AND the unit, like (forgive me, please) a Mackie unit? I do have another Ipad that will have previously interacted, but not since the overwrite. Thanks for your help!
Should be still stored on the SQ, right?
I am not that familiar with how the iPad interacts with the SQ since I don’t use it that way.
I always copy my scenes to a backup thumb drive if they are important legacies.
D.
That’s what I’m not sure of. My understanding is that once done on the device, it’s finished. The mistake was last Sunday and I wasn’t back until today. I hit the scene, hoping that I was wrong, but I had overwritten it with the wrong one.
If MixPad is connected to the console, it only serves as a remote control and everything happens on the console anyway.
But overwriting a scene alone shouldn’t be a problem as long as you haven’t overwritten the associated show as well.
So first of all, save the current state in a new show and load one of the previous versions.
The scene should still be there.
Otherwise, it depends on how conscientiously you have handled your shows.
So first look for any backups of the stick that you or other users have created.
If the scene was very important to the user in question, they may have saved it as a separate scene in addition to the show.
There is also a chance that the original show and/or the scene were saved as a backup in the MixPad’s offline mode on one of the controlling tablets.
If you have an iPad with MixPad that has not yet been reconnected to the console after your error, look for the scene in question in offline mode and save it separately and also the current state in a new show.
Sorry, but I have to clarify my last statement again:
As MixPad, as described at the beginning, in “online mode” only remotely controls the console, the scene and show are not automatically available there after the connection is terminated, but only if a “Pull Show” was previously made.
The missing scene will therefore only be found on one of the tablets if it was previously worked with offline.
