Hi guys,
FROM THE MANUAL:
The Compressor mode –
There are two detection modes in the standard compressor, RMS (average) and Peak. Touch either mode to toggle between them. The active mode is displayed in white.
Question: When would you use the one over the other mode and why? I´m not sure how to use that feature correctly (if there is a “correct” way)
Cheers!
Peak for limiting and protection of things like in-ears, speaker systems etc, and RMS for more transparent and less noticible compression. RMS is generally what you’d use on instruments and voices, and when used correctly isn’t very noticeable and is more musical.
