Would love to be able to add a compressor/ducking to reverb FX. That way I could have a big reverb without muddying the vocals.
Would also love pitch correction.
I’d also like to be able to name the FX channel on the fader/config tab.
2024/09/24 at 1:53 pm #125880SharpieParticipantI’ve noticed that all the Rev fx have some sort of modulation going on.
I’ve noticed this on all rev fx and on all the rev helper options in/out switching
The modulation effect is HORRIBLE !!
I play Texas blues and this mod effect makes me sound like I’m in Haircut 100 (not that Haircut 100 is not a good band..they ARE excellent !!)
If we could have an option to switch off the modulation in all the rev effects that would be great…
Right now my workaround is to aux out to an external Lexicon M200..
ALSO…
Please could we have a pre-delay function on the rev engines…the revs are swamping my wonderful vocals !!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CAN WE HAVE ALL THIS ON THE NEXT FIRMWARE UPGRADE FOR THE BRILLIANT CDQ 18T
With hopeful thanks guys

My Waves LV1 reverbs offer maxed out post production customation that are well beyond normal SR “wet down” needs that the SQ5 handels very well with it’s available internal FX, but the CQ line needs a total rework of it’s FX protocol. I have done two small gigs with the CQ20b with out reverbs. Dry vocals are not what I want but the existing CQ internal FX choices are even worse.
Perhaps Keith could explain the difference between the SQ vs CQ FX protocols.
Hugh2024/09/26 at 12:12 pm #125951Lee7Participant@Sharpie,
Which reverb FX are you using?
I found the easyverb to be very metallic sounding and not pleasant at all. However, take a look at the Spaceverb FX rack and try one of the plates. They sound good to me, which could be improved upon if the CQ had a pre delay option.
🙂
2024/09/28 at 11:37 am #126000JeradachsParticipantHey A&H
Please give us a better Reverb!!!
I‘ll give you 100€ if it would even reach the quality of the one in my Boss-Looper RC600.Olaf
2024/09/28 at 2:18 pm #126002FrenchieParticipantI really don’t understand why you’re complaining about the CQ FX and the reverb.
I found them to be very good, clean and overall very good quality.
With all the control available I can dial them exactly where I need, just using my ears.
From stage or from the audience, I have never received any complain about the sound or FX.2024/10/06 at 7:52 am #126230JeradachsParticipantHey Frenchie
I use the CQ18T for acoustic Duo in jazzy context. Actually I have to carry an older Lexicon for better rev.
The CQ reverb might work for a Band. But the reqests from all the users arround may show that higher Quality Levels can not be reached with the simple parameter set of the FX.
But I Forum really Strange having quick and complete channel switchable, and FX not. And having top quality Sound processing but weak FX.
I hope we get the expert mode at least for the existing FX engines soon.
2024/10/08 at 11:30 am #126278FrenchieParticipantI would agree that it’s a matter of taste but maybe also the inability to proper set the onboard FX.
The fact is that very few are complaining here.2024/10/12 at 11:53 am #126383HughParticipantThamk you Lee7 for the great tip: All 4 of the plates are very usable with the acoustic music I work with and a big improvement over most all of the other more intensive pop styled Reverbs. (they remind me of the old 140 plate algo from years ago) Appropriate acoustic music embilishment has a much smaller latitude for “room creation” than most of todays pop production so emplementing the FX plates is very helpful in this regard.
(Go to FX unit #2 Echo Verb—select the Spaceverb rack and select any of the 4 plates in the drop down menu. Then trim to taste) Thanks again Lee7.
Hugh2024/10/13 at 12:26 pm #126405Lee7Participant@Hugh,
That is all I use re: reverb FX.
Depending on the band I may add a tap delay which also works well.
🙂
2024/10/13 at 9:35 pm #126422DJ StraylightParticipantCo-signing a general unhappiness with the FX. It’s not the end of the world for me, I’m using the CQ12 primarily as a signal processor, but the FX are oddly not great.
– I’m not convinced the FX assist settings are assisting me at all
– Wet/dry leveling work seems harder and less effective than other units I’ve used, especially in shared FX mode. The Level assist did nothing helpful 🙁 Can I currently set a global wet/dry mix that applies to all FX?
– It’s weirdly clunky to switch a unit to a new effect (why am I scrolling through items in a folder? After tapping a folder icon?) —- I’d love to be able to have a few different FX staged in “tabs” on the screen above the FX unit to switch between using taps, without exiting the screen I’m looking at and scrolling through a computer menu
– Am I incorrect or can I not assign multiple FX units to the same output channel? I didn’t spend all day trying to figure it out; maybe there’s a matrix I can hack together?
– Auto-detect BPM would be nice
– Some kind of crush or crunch would also be great, something to make the sound more aggressive
Better FX help me not have to bring a separate FX box to smaller DJ gigs!
2024/10/15 at 8:22 am #126477SharpieParticipantThanks Lee..
I’ve tried all the rev FX alternatives in the CQ..
They all seem to have this annoying mod effect..surely it wouldn’t be too complex to add a modulation on/off function along with a pre delay adjustment function in the next firmware update..
I acquired the CQ 18t as a recording alternative to the Zoom L12 and as an upgrade to the A & H Zed r16..
As an upgrade to the Zed R16 the idea was to not have to carry outboard reverb FX and outboard Graphic Eq..
I was disappointed to find that the Rev FX all have a modulation component that interferes with my guitar sound in a way which makes the FX unusable.
If A&H could include a switch function for modulation on/of along with a pre-delay adjust function I could finally move my outboard rack out of the truck and into retirement !!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE A&H COULD WE HAVE THIS INCLUDED IN THE NEXT FIRMWARE UPGRADE..
Would save fuel and help the environment if I could leave my outboard rack at home !!
2024/10/15 at 9:27 am #126485Lee7Participant@Sharpie,
I disagree with above in regards to the plates from within the Spaceverb FX rack, they are quite good. But as I have already said, they would be much improved with the addition of a pre delay.
However, I use this particular effect for vocals only, not guitar.
🙂
2024/10/15 at 1:33 pm #126489EricParticipantI have the QU-SB and it has worked well for years now. I have the effects working on 4 vocal channels, but I have no idea how I did it. I have not used the system for a while, and cannot recall how I add or change effects to an input channel? On my regular sound boards it is just a nob on the channel for effects 1 or 2.
2024/10/23 at 12:48 pm #126751JeradachsParticipantI tried out the reverbs live 5 times now. For folkies singer-songwriter acoustic people easy Verb and echo verb are Not usable.
