Has anyone tried to use a NAS for recording from the QU- drive? idk if a NAS can primarily transfer data through a USB port, and if it can, if you format the HDD will it maintain its OS?

What I would like to do is have the NAS automatically upload the recordings to a dropbox folder so after i hit record and it finishes, I don’t have to unplug the HDD and plug it into a computer to access it. Any thoughts?

That doesn’t work! A NAS is like a small computer with it’s own OS! If you format the HD – you have no connection between the Qu console and the NAS!
Whats about using a notebook with USB-B Port for Multitrack recording? Then you don’t have to unplug the notebook and you can set the save-directory to a dropbox folder!
