Just got an Avantis and usually use Mac laptops. A&H doesn’t have Director V1.3 for the Sonoma OS available yet so borrowed a PC and put Director on that. We don’t have a wireless network set up yet so want to connect the PC directly to the Avantis network port with an Ethernet cable to communicate for the time being. Can’t see how to set up the PC for this. Should I go with the static IP on Avantis or go with DHCP? In either case, how does the computer need to be set up? I know how to modify the Ethernet network settings on the PC. Just not clear on getting them to talk with respect to IP addresses. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

Unless you have a DHCP server on the same network, you want to set your PC to a static IP address in the same subnet as the Avantis (but not the same address). So for example, assuming the Avantis is on its default IP address 192.168.1.80, set your PC to 192.168.1.100 and subnet 255.255.255.0.
