I’d like to run digitally to our venue’s video booth. SQ has this nice AES output, and I have a couple of input devices that take S/PDIF. Conversion should be simple. Unfortunately, my vid computer inputs are seeing clock but no audio. I’m baffled.

For conversion, I’ve previously used a Canare BCJ-XJ-A10TR transformer. I also have an M-Audio CO3. At the other end, I have an ESI U24XL or a Sound Devices USBPre 2. I have used both of these with other mixers. Now all I get is indication of good clock but no audio. Everything is set to 48k. I even tried a complete reset on the SQ, and pink noise to L/R routed to AES. Here’s where it gets odd. Every combination of those converters and two different cables works fine into a Marantz PMD661 recorder, so I know the routing is correct in the SQ.

    What am I missing?
