Big thing to remember is that if it ever stops raining there still loads of water hiding in the roof somewhere just waiting for a keen stage monkey to dislodge with a broom. I saw this happen onto two Hertiage 3000’s whilst Elton John was onstage; I’ve never seen two desks stripped and bodged back together so quickly…
Just remember kids no matter how good your mixing is you can’t polish a turd…

Best desk for outside use is someone elses []
Whilst we are on this topic has anyone any solutions for using the touch screen in sunlight apart from gaffering cardboard round it?

Buying a small gazebo to use in this situation is very worthwhile and much cheeper than replacing or repairing a damaged console. The only problem we have had is actually from the sun! We had our iLive T112 outdoors with no weather protection (mid summer) and the sun was very hot. The T112 surface started to peal and bubble up. This returned to normal after the console cooled down. Just shows that sun protection is just as important!

I wonder why every digital console I’ve seen has no dust protection on faders. I had to replace all faders of my R72 because of sand, after just one and half month of working on the beach. Even inexpencive ZED series from A&H has such protection…

Honestly, try it out, next gig throw a pint of water into the mixrack you will see what i mean!
2011/04/05 at 11:45 pm #27885BiggsoundsParticipantNote: TotalLiveSound agrees to indemnify users against loss of income and looking really daft to their crew in the event that the Mixrack proves to be less than waterproof.
