So i have the qu-pac. And i think switching a group to mix mode isn’t going to work unless there’s a way to route it to mix out 1&2 since the wu-pac doesn’t have group or matrix iuts kn the back. Any help on routing to mix outs 1&2 would be appreciated! Thanks.

Couple questions: 1) how do i assign stereo groups to the mix 1&2 outs? And 2) Can I adjust track levels for the group separate than for my main mix?(so i have an independent monitor mix?)

Would someone provide me some guidance on how to convert mono mix 1 and 2 to a stereo mix? We run a lot of stereo instruments and everyone wants a stereo IEM monitor mix.

Just following up on this. At every gig the last few months the PA has made a loud “Pop” either during soundcheck or within the first few songs of the actual show. The board always freezes but sometimes corrects itself. Other times I have to turn the unit off and then back on. Two gigs ago, after the “pop” occurred (during our third song), all of the power amps power-cycled as well. It made me think that maybe we have a faulty power connection somewhere in the chain. I replaces all extension cords, all power cables, and made sure power amps are on a difference circuit from all digital gear. Yet at my gig this past weekend the same damn thing happened again…

So we held a makeshift practice Sunday, used all the PA gear, but I used my old analog Mackie board. I couldn’t replicate the problem. Makes me think it has something to do with the Qu-Pac…except why/how would it cause all our power amps to cycle through their power (turn off and on all by themselves)….?????

I just purchased a new Qu-Pac with a return policy. I’m going to upload all my settings from my current Qu-Pac and use it for the next few shows. If we don’t have the popping problems, then I can safely assume it has something to do with my board….so frustrating…

I totally agree. Intermittent problems are the worst. I did a hard reset of the unit. I also purchased a new power conditioner and will run all my digital gear through that. If I have no issues the next few shows then “maybe” I’ve solved the problem…whatever the problem is…

I may have to send it in for servicing, but I was really hoping someone may have run across a similar problem or could help me narrow it down to a hardware or software or external power issue… or something… My concern with just sending it in for repair, is that the unit works fine 99% of a 5 hour show. So there’s a very good chance the tech won’t be able to replicate the problem…

Basically, the L/R meters are reading the sound level of the squeal that happens after the loud pop….

To clarify, I am the sound guy and also the guitarist, so I don’t know what happens to the meters during the loud “pop”. But after it freezes, the meters show a constant level right around unity.

DavidCo – Yes, I looked at the front panel and the Main L/R meters hover at about unity. Nothing works on the front panel. I can’t mute anything, turn anything down, or select a channel. As a result, I don’t know what is showing on the individual channels. It’s loud a horrible so I’m scrambling to try to mute it or turn it off. Next time it happens (Gods forbid), I’ll try to check my IPad to see if I can see a problem with a particular channel.

So at the gig last night, I went with the stereo 1 channel. It worked perfect. Great stereo balance that we never had before when using a single mic on a real leslie. Also, it can’t go without saying that digital technology has truly caught up with the analog music world. The qu-pac is a good example. But the Leslie midi/synth program may have been an even better example. It was a $50 program running from a cheap laptop tucked in the corner. It sounded better than the real Leslie in a live situation (incredible realism and with line-in there was obviously no mics needed, no bleed from all the other instruments on stage, and it was very easy to carve out space with EQ for bass, kick and guitars much like in a studio setting rather than a live situation). And the processing, power, sound, etc… seems to get cheaper and better by the day. love it…

Thanks! I did make a backup of all scenes and an entire show. I then updated to 1.8, and it seems to be working with my old Ipad with v.1.8. So I think I’m good to go. I appreciate the help and answers.

Just saw this thread. I updated by Qu-Pac to firmware 1.71. Is there something I need to do to also update by AB168? I didn’t see any instructions on that anywhere. Thanks.

JD – I got that unit b/c others swear by it. Once I got it set up, it has been great, though I’ve only used it for a total of 6 or 7 hours so far.
