Have you tried the plates from within the Spaceverb FX rack? They are way better and more usable than any from the Easyverb FX.
🙂

I have indeed tried all the revs and variables of…
With acoustic guitar the modulation effect is very “out in front” and takes over the sound…it’s most disagreeable.
I work-through and aux out to a Lex MX200 WHICH IS lush and clean..it also gives me the pre delay function which cleans up the rev on vocals…
I’m sure 2 changes on all the verbs in the next firmware update will sort this issue out completely..
2024/10/24 at 11:10 am #126773FrenchieParticipantCan you share you REV settings, send/return levels ?
What you say looks strange as I do not have the same result in listening.2024/10/24 at 11:18 am #1267742024/10/24 at 11:34 am #126777SQuserParticipant@Sharpie
You write here – I think you’re the only one – about a horrible modulation effect.
Now I find it hard to imagine why A&H should build a (non-deactivatable) modulation into all their reverb FX on the CQ.
Could you perhaps describe it in more detail, whether it is an amplitude, frequency or phase modulation?
It would be even better, of course, if you could upload an acoustic example of the FX somewhere so that we can hear what you mean.2024/10/24 at 11:48 am #126778FrenchieParticipantAimed at Sharpie.
2024/10/24 at 11:56 am #126779SharpieParticipantHi Frenchie
It seems to be an amplitude thing…
Sounds like the depth setting on a chorus pedal turned up to high…
It passes ok on vocals but on acoustic guitar…well…When testing in a room all heads turned and said nooooo !!
2024/10/24 at 12:01 pm #126780SharpieParticipantHi Frenchie..
Send and run levels ..
Send not too high..in the low region…rtn levels set unity…
Chan send levels set not too high..low-ish
I’ve experimented with send/rtn levels…no joy..
2024/10/24 at 12:35 pm #126782SQuserParticipantHm – amplitude would be a tremolo FX and chorus would be more a phase FX.
Neither of these has any place in a reverb.
And it would actually be much more likely to disturb a vocal than a guitar with its already with its “floating” sound.
Unfortunately, I can’t imagine it like that.2024/10/24 at 12:47 pm #126783SharpieParticipantHi SQ user…
I have a QU 24 so green with envy of your SQ !!
I’m hearing a tremolo and phase type of sound when I describe the modulation sound I’m hearing…]
Either way an on/off function along with a pre delay function would be very useful indeed…
Currently for live work I use a Zed R16 with outboard for EQ’s and FX..The CQ will be great for a replacement once I can retire my outboard rack…
All else on my CQ is fine..would love to be able to send fx to auxes without having to send to L+r..oh..and a 32 band graphic soon all outputs…which is how I’m running my Zed R…
Thanks for clearing up the amplitude description for me..very appreciated…
Enjoy that SQ !!

Ah, sorry – it was in the CQ forum.> so green with envy of your SQ !
Also the QU has something enviable: 12 encoders for EQ instead of 3! )> I have a QU 24
But then I understand you even less, because the QU has the same reverb engine “SMR-Verb” as the SQ.
And there are no modulation effects there.
And of course there is a predelay there (see pic).Further down you write about CQ again … ?

Oh gosh…
Re QU24..I was simply envying your SQ as a QU24 user..
My CQ 18t is the unit with the rev modulation issue…
I am looking to replace my Zed R16 and outboard FX/EQ rack with my recently acquired CQ 18t…(which I am enjoying thoroughly !)
After encountering the mod issues I concluded a Modulation on/off function along with a pre-delay function on the rev FX would be most welcome..along with a function to be able to send FX to auxes without also sending to the main L+R output…
Anyrate..Happy SQ-ing I’m envious !!
2024/10/24 at 5:24 pm #126804SQuserParticipantThanks for your good wishes! )
The question that comes to mind is, if you’re envious of an SQ-6, why would you change your QU-24 for a CQ when the QU should probably have the better FX that are obviously important to you.
As I said, it’s difficult to judge something that you can’t hear.
Maybe you should be able to make a short recording and upload it somewhere with a picture of your settings.
I don’t want to believe that A&H would install any kind of modulator in a normal reverb, which is supposed to more or less only simulate a room.2024/10/24 at 5:51 pm #126806FrenchieParticipant“along with a function to be able to send FX to auxes without also sending to the main L+R output…”
CQ allow it.
Just turn the FX fader down and it won’t be send to Main L/R…2024/10/24 at 6:05 pm #126807SharpieParticipantHi Frenchie…
Doh..!! Yes of course..
I got myself completely confused with sending channel send faders to auxes without having the main L=R chan fader sending to L+R…
In the above case where the main L+R output bus sends are turned down all the way the chan FX sends (I believe) don’t send to Auxes and the aux sends for that particular channel don’t see signal.
Be great if the Main L+R channels had an on/off function leaving the signal to go to the Aux outputs.
Anyrate..
Thank you for pointing out where I went wrong with the FX send thingie…Appreciated.
