Hello everybody,
Tomorrow I have a show with a band, FOH showfile for Avantis exists already. For some reasons, monitor desk was cancelled, so 6 stereo IEM now need to be run from FOH. IEM control via iPad may be a solution, unfortunately not every musician owns an iPad. Is there a fast way to control multiple IEM mixes from one iPad without affecting FOH mix, FX, scene control and so on?
Thanks in advance!

– Mixing station supports the Avantis, so if the members want to buy support for that it could work
– Use one or more iPads and use Avantis MixPad to control the mixes. You just have to show the members how to select the correct bus and hope that they don’t accidentally make changes to the main mix.
– Create a layout using Custom Control. This tool allows you to create a custom layout that can control all elements of an Avantis, AHM, or dLive (I think) system. It’s a common way of creating phone/tablet control. I’ve used it to create IEM mix control for my Avantis and it works on iOS and Android. You can even assign a custom control set up to a specific user so they only see their control when connecting. It takes a bit of time to setup and test, but I would think you can do it in a couple of hours. Each of the above has trade-offs of price and safety.

Users of the app can select which buss (IEM mix) they want to control. However care should be taken so that they actually select the correct buss/mix. If they don’t, they will be affecting someone else’s IEM mix and not their own. That is a confusing situation for BOTH musicians.
The CustomControl software is definitely a solid solution and it has the benefit of being available on other OS like Android, but it takes a decent amount of effort to design and setup initially. It’s not “plug and play” in any way and it’s probably not worth the effort to set up for a one off show.

My advice check everything ,one after one ,very easy to make mistakes .2024/09/05 at 11:02 am #125320cen-musicParticipantHello. We did use Mixing Station for that one Show. Fast solution, worked well.

Remote mixing is made available by products like the Behringer X-Air series and QSC TouchMix, which provide user-friendly touch controls. For live performances, these systems offer flexibility and quick modifications by supporting multiple mixes at once.
