    Wounder if you can help..
I have a Waves Soundgrid server (Wave SGS) running with my SQ5. To date the Soundgrid has been 100% reliable but even with redundant servers a loss of the primary waves server means a period of no audio for any channels sending to and returning from Waves via a channel insert.
I’m trying to figure what might be the best ways would this.

What would be really great would be a immediate way to disable all inserts in the current show? Perhaps through a softkey. Is this possible?

I can save the current scene to a new scene say “No WSG Inserts” which, which has the required inserts OFF and I could launch this scene immediately if there is a WGS issue.
The “limitation” of this approach is that the “No WSG inserts” scene will not include any of the mix changes made in the primary scene after the “No WSG inserts” scene was created and saved.

I did think.. “Oh, ok I can make the channels SAFE to preserve their mix settings” but this results in the channel’s insert setting also being SAFE / preserved which, for the failure scenario, is exactly what I don’t want.

Is there a better way to do this?
    Thank you

I guess that is a “no” then. I can’t find a way to set Safe for everything except Inserts…

Unfortunately I think you have already found your own answer.

The SQ recall filters are VERY broad and don’t allow a user to specify which specific parameters (like just the insert functionality) to safe. The Avantis has more detailed recall filters (and does allow for just the insert functionality to be safed) and the DLive has even more granular recall filters than the Avantis. I guess A&H has decided to limit the granularity of the recall filter system based on the model. The higher the model, the more granular the recall filter system is.

    Thanks Brian.
I figured as much but wasn’t totally sure. It’s interesting to hear that this is a feature of the higher desks. Thanks for taking the time and pointing that out.
