Hello everyone!
This is my first ever post here, eeee!
Ok I’ll cut it short.
I’m the sound eng for a bunch of clubs in Birmingham UK.
They are all managed by the IDR serries, some have IDR4’s and expanders, some have IDR8’s.
Over the years I’ve got to know these controllers inside out, beautifull sou ding machines.
One thing I thought sets them apart was the AGC setting on the input compressors.
They just brought the level down so seamles before any limiting would kick in, NO ducking effects , just beautifull.
The problem with the IDR units is that after all these years of service their power supplies fail.
AH doesn’t produce these power supplies anymore so we decided to upgrade to the AHM serries.
There is NO AGC function on the AHM. WHYYY?!?
I tried to fake it by having a super short Atack and a max lenght Release but you can literally hear the ducking effect no matter what AR settings i try.
Am I missing something or this range just doesn’t do Auto Gain Control?
Other than that, as usual AH quality is brilliant.
PS: Is it just me or the IDR range just looked more like a premium product?
All the best!
