    Hi,

Been using a QU32 for over 10 years and now upgrading to an SQ7 buying second hand one.

is it streaigh forward to register purchased plugins to a second hand desk? and can i register the desk? or does the previous owner have to unregister etc.

Also is there any way to demo the plugins before purchasing?

When buying so-called add-ons, it makes no difference whether you buy them for a new or used SQ.
You only need the serial number of the hardware and a DNA number of the “software”.
You will receive an activation code based on these informations.

Something like that would be ideal and fair, but unfortunately you have to buy a pig in a poke.
The only way I know of is to try the add-ons on a console where they are already installed.

    You should also consider:
If your SQ breaks seriously and you don’t want to repair it, your add-ons are gone too.

As far as demoing the plugins, there isn’t really a way to do that. Still, they really do closely match the hardware units they emulate, so if you have used other examples of the emulations or the hardware unit’s themselves, the A&H version is going to work very closely. If you don’t have any experience with the emulations, then you might get an idea for what they can do via videos on YouTube. You could also try some demo versions of the Waves plugins that match the emulation models. The Waves demos work, they will just randomly cut the audio out for a ver seconds every couple of minutes. It prevents you from using them in a live environment, but work well enough to allow you to “play” with them.
