So far not really a success 🙂
I will maybe switch to a seperate computer that I hook up directly to the USB-B and control it via Teamviewer.
Optimal solution (for me) would be if I was able to control the SQ-drive from Mixpad (https://community.allen-heath.com/forums/topic/sq-drive-recording-via-mixpad).
So… is it still on the request-list?
This would be a super-great feature during band-rehersal. We could multi-track-record a song and then play it back, muting certain channels to go into details.
Since our console is not positioned quite near me controlling it via MixPad would be awsome.
I have done some testing. It seems to work with limited number of channels.
When recording 16 channels I get stuttering recordings. This can also be a limitation of the laptop I use.
Next week I will test with a direct (short) USB cable.
I have set everything up and the SQ was recognized and the driver loaded perfectly.
Then stumbled into problems… started Reaper added a track and selected the leadvocal channel… no signal.
Alas it was during rehearsal and I had no time to dive into it more.
I just checked the manual and I now see that I have to switch from SQDrive to USB-B in the routing section 🙂
I am gonna give that a try next Sunday but for now I do not see any reason why this won’t work… will report back again.
Thanks Alex,
I will give it a try and report back after testing.
Regards,
Peter.
Ah, that could be it!
Since I only want them on my AUX outputs for our IEM I muted the complete LR-main mix.
Will the panning of the channel be followed by the FX?
So if I pan one of the vocals completely to the left… will the FX also be panned to the left?
(my guess is that that will not be the case 🙂 )
This shoul be done by using an insert FX on every channel… right?
So leaving the current rubber knobs and adding some spacers of the same thickness around the screws should do the trick.
