Using SQ5 with AR2412 (purple)

Hi,

In our venue we use an old Allen & Heath GLD 112 with an AR2412 (purple edition). We are planning on buying an SQ5 with it’s own stagebox for a different room but want to know if it’s possible to use the SQ5 with the AR2412 stagebox in case the GLD112 suddenly shows malfunctions.

This possible cross functionality plays a big part in our eventual purchase.

Hello,
You can use the Allen & Heath SQ5 mixer with the AR2412 stagebox from the GLD112 system. Connect the SQ5 to its stagebox and link the AR2412 to the SQ5 using a dSnake Cat5 cable. This ensures cross-compatibility, serving as a backup in case of GLD112 malfunctions.

Hello M,
in addition, what Miasm1 said, better you use minimum CAT5e Network-Cable for stable connection,
and also make sure, that for using the “AR2412” (also “AB168” and “AR84”) with the SQ5 the Sync-Clock is switched from “96khz” to “48khz”
