The art (and science) of developing how a board like the SQ series gives visual feedback for the (audio) technician, is to balance two things; Creating maximum situation awareness. But on the other hand not to present an information overload.
When an iPad is used for extra info/control, and it displays the graphic EQ, with RTA overlay, and the SQ displays the PEQ, I am totally happy with all the control and info at my disposal. Extra RTA overlay on the PEQ would only distract. The same information twice would be presented.
I like the art of colouring and giving a channel a place in the spectrum with the PEQ screen as it is right now, and the science of fine tuning any ‘problems’ that might exist with the extra info of the RTA and the power of the GEQ. With the iPad (on the bracket) , in my opinion, the control possibility’s and visual feedback are just fine as it is. Beautifully balanced.
So many people so many opinions. Sorry……
